Good Morning Oh Kee Pa (Part 1)

Count your blessings. It was 35ËšF here! Fucking tropics, man.

But in all seriousness, we have (thank fucking god) reverted back to normal March temperatures for the mountain region: high 50s to mid 60s during the day, mid 30s to low 40s at night. That’s as good as you could possibly ask for in the South, folks, let me tell ya. Down in New Orleans or somewhere like that, March is when it gets to point where you get out of the shower and IMMEDIATELY start sweating your nuts off from the ridiculous humidity and heat. I will never, ever, ever, as long as I’m alive, live in a place with weather like that again. Soon as I graduate, North Country here I come.

Had a nice, relaxing weekend, and now it’s back to the grindstone. Not so bad really, though, just gotta keep my head above water and keep pushing on. I’m getting closer and closer to actually studying what I am in college to study, so that’s a great feeling. I can’t wait until I’m writing reports about wildlife activity and tree health and water quality in streams instead of reports about fucking poetry and doing algebra problems and shit. Ah well, only 11 credit hours stand between me and my Associate’s degree, which in NC translates into having already completed your core classes. Which means that when I go to a university, all I will have to do is study the courses for my major, which is such a great feeling. Should be able to get everything knocked out by the end of summer, and then I’m on my way to getting my Bachelor’s!

No I won’t count my blessings. I know you like the winter and so do I, but after four and a half months straight of being in pain just by walking outside to get in my car…no. No I will not count those blessings. It fucking sucks, and it’s depressing.

::decides not to mention his walk this morning::

Heh, I was joking, but you know that. But one thing I don’t get: if you love the winter like I do (well, probably not as much as I do, but still), what is it that causes you to be in pain just walking to your car? The cold? Or do you slip on ice a lot or something? I don’t get it; why do you love winter if it causes you pain? The reason I love winter is because I love cold and snow and hate the heat (which causes me discomfort), so I would have thought that would be why most people who love winter do love winter.

What a shitty morning I had…forgot somebody’s name during a very important public speaking performance…thus botching a very important part of a ceremony…mama said there’d be days like this. :unamused:

The cold air hurts my skin. I love the snow and can tolerate the cold because the snow is awesome. But come mid February I’m usually “over it” and I’m just sick of being so fucking cold all the time. I love winter from December to my birthday. Usually the day after my birthday I’m ready for things to warm up. And now…well now we’re a few days away from April and it was 15 friggin degrees outside! :wtf:

D’oh!! That will happen.

I always keep a prayer card in my book. I’m a quick learner from my mistake, I is.

Morning folks. It was Barb’s birthday yesterday and phishinsky’s birthday today and waking up to wish people the best is always a good way to start the day.

And I’m going to another farewll luncheon to someone else who is either retiring or moving on to another job because of the base closure and the work disappearing aound these parts. Over 25000 jobs have been moved or lost completely in this area over the past year or so, and the final doors close this September. So it seems like I’m attending farewell luncheons at least once a week. Costing me a small fortune, plus it’s the most bizarre work experience I’ve ever been through.

But what’s interesting is that even in what the pundits say is a depressed employment market, everyone seems to be landing on their feet in one way or another, so it’s only sad that long time work relationships between people are ending.

Have one of those luncheons today at a Thai restaurant, and the guy who’s retiring is well healed and won’t be hurt by it. He’s a good guy and should start enjoying his free time. Told him he should go on Phish tour with his time off, and he said, ‘yeah, that’s a good idea, I like fishing’.

Up and at them!

Good Morning Bill!! Hope you have a great day sir.

Edward, I think your obsession with snow and cold is that you’ve lived in the heat of the south for your whole life.

Give it 30 years and let me know if you’re still in love with this weather come February each year.

I am fucking DONE with winter and the cold and the snow and the ice and the freezing and blah blah blah.

Morning all!!!

Had some surgery yesterday, had to have a couple suspicious “bumps” removed on my neck and sent in for testing, here’s to hoping its all good!! Doc said not to worry so I won’t.

Instead, I’ll sit at my desk with a Tylenol 3 and try to work.

Okay then, BASEBALL STARTS THURSDAY!!!

GO TIGERS!!!

Hope everything turns out benign, Brettzel! And would you please quit making sneak attacks into my dreams, mmmkay?

Does Edward fancy cold weather? He’s never said anything about it

Good morning!

Back to work after Florida and the wonder that was Springfest. Easily the best festival venue I’ve ever been to. I can’t tell you how beautiful and MASSIVE this place was. I think it’s 500+ acres with both camping and an amphitheater nestled in the trees, hiking trails, and the Suwannee river complete with a large, beautiful white sandy beach. The vibe was incredible, the music was stellar, and the people were great. I feel so refreshed. It really was a magical weekend and I can’t wait for next year!

Now it’s month’s end and I have to catch up on the billing. Yay for work :eh: Have a good’un

I’ve been having incredibly weird dreams this week.

Mornin to all!

Loves!

I did not sleep last night, it sucked!!

Miss some good friends here, hope to get a chance to see some of you this summer PT II…

Good Morning! Fresh cup of coffee in hand about to get this day started.

Have to beat Brett to it…

Make it a good one!

YEAH BOYEE!!!

Bill got the spring in his step today!!!

Gots to get through this week!

My head is killing me.

::pops Tylenol 3::

Work, is going to suck today

This weather is starting to freak me out. Not a single 60 degree temp in the forecast for Chicago. Nothing but rain sleet and the possibility for snow. I am so moving to Hawaii and that aint no joke son!

You might very well be completely right. Hell, I may move up north and get sick of it after 10 years, but I doubt it. I dunno, four years of it in Massachusetts didn’t even bother me, like didn’t even register in my head as something that should be unpleasant. I was just going, “Damn, this is awesome, there’s snow everywhere and winter is actually winter here.” But yeah, maybe I’ll get sick of it after many years. The places I’m going are MUCH colder and MUCH snowier than Royal Oak, too.

Anyway, I’ll save my other weather crap for the weather thread. Belated good morning to you fine people. Just got done with a Physics test; ACED the shit out of it! Fucking right! So now all I have to do for the rest of the day is right up a paragraph summary of some bullshit for Literature class and then veg out for the rest of the day. Some days, being in college is the bane of my existance, and some days I absolutely love it and dread the day when I get a “real job”. But I’m gonna enjoy this one, as rainy and grey as it is. I love rainy, grey days when I don’t have shit to do. Such a great excuse to just not do anything at all.

Have a good one folks! Go hump something… or something.

Mornin.

Loves.

I like the photos above, thanks for waking me up in style OKP Phamily!!!

Promised the girlfriend I would go running before work tonight. YIKES!
