Good Morning Oh Kee Pa (Part 1)

^Hmm, I’ll be getting snip snipped this fall, let me know how it all goes… Well, yeah you know…

Eh, I don’t care for either party. They’re both so extreme in their views that neither one of them are to be taken seriously. The Democrats spend too much, and the Republicans do too. It’s funny that they all act like fiscal conservatives while they’re busy earmarking billions of dollars for bullshit projects in their home state. Kinda pisses me off when MY tax money goes to fund some random bridge being built in fucking Oregon or something. I’m not one of those “no taxes ever” nutcases, because that’s unrealistic, but I do think things have gotten out of control, and I feel alienated from politics as a whole. Basically, I don’t feel like there are many people in Congress who actually represent me and what I believe in. And I bet a lot of folks feel the same way.

As for voting for Obama… well, I’m surprised you would do that after what he has (not) accomplished. I dunno man, I don’t wanna get off on a politics tangent, but unless something huge happens and shit REALLY changes, I have a hard time giving a shit enough to even go to the voter’s booth. I voted last time, and it didn’t mean a damn thing, so what’s the point? (Yeah I know what the typical repsonse to that is, but it doesn’t move me much.) Anyways… politics suck ass.

Carry on.

Yeah, let’s not get into politics in this tread, especially not on

Back in NJ by nine last night. Had a good day at work, and a great drive home. Beautiful scenery, with great music from some of my favorite shows to accompany it. Dooj is right. Five hours on the open road with music playing and the miles rolling by is better than being crammed in a seat on an airplane.

Hope everyone has a great middle of the week.

^Way to prevent derailment of the things that really matter Bill. Your actions are well received.

Mornin!

Loves to all you Republicans and Democrats, I mean we are all people of the human race, so…

Might hit 60-70 here in the TC late this week and in to the weekend!!!

Time to go get the Motorcycle and get ready for the Twins home opener!!!

Yeah baby!

Can I vote for her? :smiling_imp:

I’d like to discuss her stimulus plan! Hey-Oh!

^

Morn . . . I mean afternoon!!

Flew home this weekend for my Mom’s 50th. Made it back in the wee hours yesterday morning. Finally back to work today! Loving the new job. More work, less idle time around here, but it is totally worth it.

Oh yeah, next month is my birthday AND PHISH!!!

Have an awesome day Pa’!!!

^ So yeah, Vermont = better than New Orleans, yes?

Glad your move to VT is working out for you Cari. It’s a great part of the world. I’m really in a Northeast state of mind this week after my drive up to Syracuse, especially the more sculpted, mountainous areas. Has a centering effect on me, makes me more introspective, changes my persception of myself relative to the world.

Spoke with Marie yesterday about a possible auto tour of NY in the early Fall. Just cruising through some of the small towns in upstate, maybe looking for a place to retire to away from the faster pace that life has become.

Speaking of which, time to head into the shower to start the downturn into the weekend. Gdaughter Kelsey is sleeping over Friday night, and we’re looking forward to it. At 11, her parents keep her schedule filled with dance, cheerleading, girl scouts, and violin lessons, that’s it’s hard to get some time with her alone. Asked her is she’d like to sit and make paper airplanes with me like I did two weeks ago when Jaime stayed over, and she seemed really excited about the prospect. Wouldn’t be surprised if she’s not more excited about having a place to retire to for a while from the faster pace that life has become.

Deadline’d

Mostly, I just wanted to give this picture a well deserved BUMP, but man that is a PERFECT ass!

Good Morning OKP–Just enjoyed a huge chocolate milk and two donuts–BRING IT ON Thurday!

I totally know what you’re talking about Bill. I mean, the mountains down here make me that way, but even more so up in New England and upstate NY, because those areas are more connected to other places. 'Course, in Alaska, where I’m thinking I’m gonna go (at least for awhile) after graduation, you’re not connected to anything, but that’s alright. I’m working my way to VT. Plus, talk about mountains and all, Alaska has the biggest mountain in North America, Mount McKinley/Denali, plus Mount Saint Elias and Mount Foraker, all of which are above 17,000 feet, and Denali is right at 20,000. Pretty awesome.

You know what would be a good place to retire? The U.P. of Michigan. Place is so gorgeous, and the towns on the U.P. are so cool. I love it up there, even though there aren’t any serious mountains, there’s something about the place that’s so calming. Plus the snow really isn’t THAT much more than a lot of places in the upstate, especially Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo. But I hear they’ve been getting less snow than they used to in those towns, so who knows? Snow is good anyway.

So I’m sitting here in the computer lab, supposed to be writing a paper for Physics. I really should go ahead and write it, then I wouldn’t have to write it later, but man I don’t want to at all. Had to drink teh Dunkin Donuts coffee this morning, which isn’t necessarily bad, but the coffee we make at my house is much better. Woke up and realized the reason my roommate didn’t make coffee: no filters! Argh! I meant to go buy some yesterday. But the good thing about getting coffee from DD is that I got to have a breakfast sandwich (bacon, egg, cheese on a croissant); that was great. Anyway, have a good one folks!

:wtf:

Good morning peoples. I feel pretty darned good this morning. Yesterday the divorce was finalized and I finally submitted my friggin grant application. Today I woke up knowing that a large pile of crap was now behind me. I plan on enjoying my day at work and my weekend at home visiting the family. Enjoy your Fridays.

That’s a heavily quoted bottom back there, and for good reason I must say. Wowee. Ahem. :exclamation:

I overslept, but had a grand morning despite. Still is I figure. Feeling excited about it being Friday ~ I have some weekend cleaning/organizing ambitions, a gig tonight, and it’s f*cking gorgeous outside.

Plus my bride and I have rounded another turn on the grand rollercoaster here, and somehow are getting along just fine atm. We really fell right off the rails last week and somehow have restored us once again, can’t believe it. The best news is that it’s trending in a positive direction lately, so I’m feeling more comfortable and confident about going forward together. What a f*cked up couple of years we’ve had as a couple.

My friend Dan, with whom I’m sketching out a disc golf plan, wrote to me the other day about his Saturday: “… i will more than likely be … rearing to go as is usually the case on days that i dont have work, on work days i couldnt find that energy if my life depended upon it, not in 8 cups of coffee.”

Did I say that out loud?

Know what, I’m always giving props to coffee and pizza, and I hardly ever go into how important a thing the chocolate chip cookie is to a human life.

Yes, as much as I love New Orleans and sweet tea and the comforts of the South, I love this freakin’ place. I’ve spent a lot of time driving up through Louisiana and of course Alabama on I65 passing miles and miles of pines and saps, but there is just something about the Greens and Whites and Berkshires and Catskills. These mountains are extraordinary.

Just driving to work and seeing the bright sunshine hitting the snow caps. It’s mind-blowing. And not just the beauty of the mountains, but the beauty of simplicity. Local dairy and produce. Farmers and brewers. Less cars, more bicycles and runners. Fresh air, love it.

I don’t think I’ll ever leave . . .

^Nice! Congrats!

Edward, you should consider switching up your plan and hitting up Vermont first and then Alaska. There’s always a chance you’ll get trapped and I think you’d be happier stuck in vermont than stuck in alaska. But that’s just mho.

In any case… mornin from Atlantic City. This town is so whack.

Have great days, folks!

With milk…don’t forget the milk. Or maybe Oreos and milk. Mmmmm…
