Good Morning Oh Kee Pa (Part 1)

11:52am: I’m suddenly in a big hurry to wish you all the best morning you’ve ever just already had.

Well, good morning there, Ohkeepa!

It’s a beautiful morning here in Budapest and I’m off to check out some of the city. Last night we hung out at this outdoor fair kinda thing that had all sorts of crazy grilled meats and tons of European beers and wine. They had pig’s heads, among other things. If you order a chicken kabob, they make sure to fry it in a few inches of pig grease before they give it to you.

Anyways, I’m sure it’s night time for most of ya… so I hope you’re all sleeping well or partying hard or whatever. I’ll be on this side of the world for over a month, so I should be able to keep the Good Morning thread alive nice and late for you all!

Have an awesome 24 hours, Pa!

TABOOT TABOOT!!!

Good Morning! Day 2 without the Dooj. Been super at busy at work which is good, less time to to think about about how much I miss him. We’ve been building a rain garden all week planting some where around 900 plants. I’m so over digging holes.

Good morning. Got my first pair of glasses this morning. They’re for reading/close-up. Not really excited about it, but I have been having bad migraine problems and the doc said it was probably because of my eyes so I’m hoping that will help. I didn’t really know how farsighted I actually was until I put these things on and looked at my computer screen. They’re going to be a pain in the ass though because when they’re on I can’t see shit far away :problem:

Morning dudes. I’m feckin tired. Played an hour and a half from home last night, to fill in for a friend’s bandmate in Salem MA. We left the bar at like, 12.30 probably. I had to sleep in a rest area for about half an hour in order to survive it; arrived home at 3am. The music sounded awesome in that room though, classy place with great acoustics and a friendly staff too. Thing is, I gigged Wednesday night in Boston and got home in the wee hours as well, so that’s two nights in a row followed by the day shift.

Weekend is looking real promising though, so that’s cool. Taking my kids to their grandfather’s church play tonight … probably will be better than it sounds, ha. D’olf in the morning, can’t wait for that. Gig in Boston Saturday night, Sunday’s pretty wide open I think.

Well hope you guys are having a grand day. I’m on coffee #3, always a gamble with the nervous system, but mmmm so tasty.

^^ :nerd: Officially a nerd!

Really? It wasn’t the fact that I’m a scientist? Or that I watch a campy 1960’s-70’s British science-fiction show about a time traveling alien?

i said “Officially”

^Stop picking on your brother, will ya?

First hint of Autumn last night when temps dipped into the low 60s. Great sleeping weather is upon us, as well as the departure of the overbearing heat and humidity of Summer.

Sunday we’re out into this little cool snap to track down a pig roast event at a winery somewhere to the south of us. Much rather prefer a beer with my pulled pork, but I’m going for the experince, not the wine. Should be fun.

Fun is always preferable.

Don’t ever wish you unhappiness, but it’s nonetheless refreshing to hear this.

^Agreed!

And I miss her so much, too!!

Morning, Pa, from Istanbul Turkey! Had a great time in Budapest and will post pictures when I get the chance… off to work all day but hope you all are fabulous!

Rock on!!

::is fabulous:: :wave: Hey 'Pa!

Today is going to be FAAAAABULOUS! Going riding and then some pizza and wings for the Raiders BILLS game.

GO BILLS!

^Big D! Big win for the Bills.

btw, Marie and I will be roaming around upstate NY the week of Oct 10. We couldn’t join our friends on a trip to Italy they began last week, so we decided to visit Rome, Palermo, Venice, Genoa, and Naples on our own that week in NY. So besides hitting the NY state wineries, we’ll be stopping in those towns to take pictures next to the road signs to prove that we’ve been there too.

Speaking of wineries, we hung out at a NJ winery yesterday for a pig roast and bluegrass festival. Food and music was great. Wine was, as is the case with most NJ wine, crappy. But the bands that performed weren’t Kentucky Thunder, but they weren’t band at all, especially for a laid back sunny Sunday afternoon.

On the move tomorrow to MD bright and early, but it’s only a single day trip, which is good. Those single day trips typically go quickly.

Have a great start to the week people.

^ Nice one Bill, sounds like a fun vacation / trip! Just about the perfect time of year for driving through the foothills of the Appalachians and taking in all the fantastic foliage.

I myself have been thinking about planning a trip through New England or Upstate NY sometime in the latter half of October as well. Will have to see how things work out with the work / travel schedule.

This week I find myself down in Raleigh-Durham on the old project again, though aside from the propeller jet flights back and forth, I have no real complaints. The folks down south are just so nice and kind; really makes me feel welcomed every time. I’ll be here in NC for at least the next couple of weeks, and then see how things are before I’m put back in the Cleveland project.

Pretty tired at the moment though; woke up around 3:30am to get ready for the early flight. Hopefully today will be a short-ish day and I’ll be in bed close to 8 or 9pm (ha ha ha lame).

Have a fabulous week, everyone!

Morning Bill and Pei!!

I hizzate teh Mondays!!!

Leaving the office in bout an hour to head to Chicago for the week.

Meetings all day tomorrow

Cubs game Wednesday

Meetings all day Thursday

Meetings until noon on Friday ->drive home

Not super excited, but I get to eat some dope ass meals with the check covered by people who want me to write business with them, so that’s kinda cool.

Have a great week Pa!

Good morning folks. Didn’t get onto the interbebz much since Thursday because I’ve been MOVING! Finally! Closed on the house last Thursday as you know, and it went well. Not only did we not owe the bank any money but I walked away with a big fat check, even after my ex-wife got her share. AND all dealings with her are done. Having that loot has made moving a hell of a lot easier because I’ve moved on a tight budget before and it’s stressful. This time I’ve just been able to do what I need to do and not worry about expenses. Found a decent small house to rent last Friday, packed all my shit on Saturday, and moved all my shit in yesterday. Didn’t get to stay at the new place last night though as the utilities weren’t turned on yet so today will be my first night in the new place. Very happy about all of this. Best part: my one hour and fifteen minute one-way commute has now been reduced to 11 minutes. Kick. Fucking. Ass.

^Many happy thoughts for you Doug, you have earned it!

Mornin all!!!

Loves to you all!!!

Ok, Monday eh? Suck it…

Good morning in the evening!

Shiiiiat, I haven’t been able to get on here at all lately. I hope you’re doin well, I miss ya’all and this thread especially.

Doug - congrats on sellin the house and a stress-free move, that rocks.

The summer was as busy as I’ve ever had, working for a band and traveling 3+ long weekends every month, not to mention a couple longer trips and our weekly Wednesday gig in town. Still trying to find additional part-time work to go along with this work, but haven’t had much luck. Anyone know of a legit way to make money working online??? :eh: I’m assuming those don’t exist, but it would be ideal for my current schedule and I could work from the road.

Anyways… have fine evening and a helluva Tuesday!
