Good Morning Oh Kee Pa (Part 1)

^Our idiot cat thinks he’s a dog. Fetches and begs at the table like the best canine could ever hope to do. The best part is that we can open the door and let him out and he’ll come back faithfully in a minute or a day. Totally up to him.

One of my kitties - Simple, he plays fetch… Literally will retrieve his toy 22-31 times… It rocks!!!

My old cat was a major beggar while my current one only sometimes begs. The best is they usually don’t make noise…they just…stare…it’s almost worse. My cat’s good with outside too…she never leaves the yard and I can leave her outside for hours (and have forgotten she was out a few times) and she just lays down somewhere until we let her in. Plus, despite being an indoor cat, she’s not a bad hunter. So far it’s five birds, one mole and almost a chipmunk until I freed the still-alive animal from her since she was really just abusing the poor thing.

And happy day in Detroit sports. Michigan State clinches their spot in the Big Ten title game, UofM football is looking good again after crushing Nebraska, The Lions won and Stafford looked normal again and now Verlander wins the MVP. Even UofM basketball just upset Memphis but no one notices that. I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.

I had two people grab that and you were one of them! Just the numbers that came to mind!  I’ll bet you Scully has more hair than that… Just my guess!

Anyhow, looking to bounce into the 50’s this week!

Good Mornin!!!

Loves to you all!

Be well!

Hope everyone has their plans in motion to spend some good time with friends, family and others!!!

What does it mean that ICC was in a dream I had last night?

Actually I never really got to interact with him. He was waiting for me to finish up some other thing I was doing in a covered screened in porch playing or writing music. And I got frustrated that I couldn’t get down there and woke up before I could. Strange.

Morning. This is my Friday! Of course I’ve been busy as all getout this morning because everyone wants something from me “before I leave”. I’ve had to update 14 documents “ASAP” and right now, I’ve completed 10, so I’m flying, mostly thanks to copious amounts of COFFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

So today I’ll be done until next Monday, and that will be so nice. Tomorrow and Thursdays are work days of a sort, but the rewards are much different, so it’s more like fun than work.

Good evening (as usual) Pa!

Hope everyone is doing well. All the pet talk on this page reminds me that we’ve had our dog, Maggie for a full year this week. I can’t believe she’s still alive, lol. Not that I mistreat her, but I’ve been so angry at her so many times I’m surprised I didn’t strangle her. She’s not so bad except for the ridiculous shedding, i guess. She’s pretty cute and I guess she’s smart when she isn’t being stubborn.

Anywho, it’s thanksgiving time! Unfortunately, it’ll just be Makenzie and I for lunch this year. I don’t really like turkey, so I’m going to cook a roast and then all the side dishes I love so. I’m really looking forward to cooking. It’s so therapeutic and it’s also tastey

I have a double whammy this year as Thursday is also Holt’s 33rd birthday. He’s working until 11pm tomorrow and on his birthday, so I just made him a big birthday dinner of spaghetti and turkey meatballs with cheesecake and icecream for dessert. I threw in some Gaelic Ale from Highland’s Brewing Company and he’s now passed out on the couch. His present will be String Cheese here in Asheville this Friday, and I’m probably taking him out to dinner before the show. Word on the street there may be a little geulah sighting

Found out today the house we were about to move into is officially in foreclosure proceedings so we can’t rent as planned. Kinda bummed out, but at least they’ve taken it off the market until it’s official. I don’t know if we have much of a chance, but if we can manage to pull a rabbit out of our hat and sell our house in the next 3 months, we can make a short-sale offer or just buy it as a foreclosure. If we don’t get a buyer for our place, though, game over :frowning:

I’m supposed to be on an xray right now, but I’m rebelling, lol. I’m working call every fucking night (except Friday of course) until Monday. I’ll be making some bank, but I’ll be exhausted. This stupid nurse called me at 10 because a patient fell out of bed and needs his knee x-rayed. That’s not the kind of shit we’re supposed to be called out for after 9pm. It’s bullshit. Chest pain, shortness of breath, fall with severe hip pain, or something else that if the results are positive, you will send the patient immediately to the ER for treatment. A fucking knee can wait until the morning during regular operational hours. That’s like ordering a tb screening at midnight. I had JUST finished cleaning up dinner when she called, so between work and cooking I had been going non-stop for 13 hours so I took half an hour to chill before I head out. I was hoping the rain would calm down as well, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.

Hope you guys have a great week and a fantastic holiday. I’m so thankful for the wonderful people I’ve encountered through Phish and more specifically, the OKP. Be well, eat turkey, sleep tight!

I threw my back out yesterday, and am in incredible pain. Wasn’t even from picking up anything too heavy, only like 90-100 lbs (ya heard, Matty). And well… isn’t that when it always happens?

^Ugg…nothing better than a back injury to remind you of your age. How are we all supposed to be invincible with back pain?

Can’t for the day off tomorrow (though I’ll be back at a possibly deserted workplace on Friday). I’d take it off but I just took off a week and need to catch up. I actually already had a Thanksgiving dinner last Thursday when I was in Florida with family so this Thursday I’m taking it easy and watching football. Enjoy the day, everyone!

Mornin!!!

Loves and blessings to you all!

Hope you all have a great Wednesday and give someone a smile, buy them coffee or do something to pay it forward…

Be well!!!

Happy Holidays!

One thing that’s tough about this otherwise completely breezy thread, is that by the time I’m caught up with work enough to catch up on it, it’s the afternoon by then.

^whoa there!

That is the Brett I know and love!

^That has to be in the top 5 of GMOKP posts.

I’m tired and burnt out. I’m really hoping that I can take the day off mentally tomorrow as well as physically and not be stressed. Probably not going to happen, but I’d like to eat my turkey and take my nap in peace. I tried to take a nap yesterday after work and I just kept tossing and turning and fell asleep for MAYBE 5 minutes.

^^I second that.

^You have to find some time Doug, to de-stress. Put that shit away for a bit. It actually helps your work in the long run.

T-day prep in full swing. The spare turkey breast (fo sammitches) is in the oven, and Marie is now working her stuffings (have to make two, one with sausage, one without), and then it will time to make pies. Marie does the pumpkin, and I the apple. Got a call from our eldest grankid, Livy, and she’s making a cheesecake for tomorrow’s dessert. That’s more than her mother or any of her aunts ever brought to the table. Maybe consideration skips a generation.

Have to get back to bringing up chairs and tables to the dining room. Have a good Thanksgiving Eve.
