Good Morning Oh Kee Pa (Part 1)

I’m going to try, but I’m not very good at it when there’s a ‘deadline’ or something looming. I will de-stress to some degree, but in the back of my mind there will still be this sense of impending doom. And don’t worry, when MSG comes around I will be so fucking de-stressed it’ll be unreal.

I bid you an actual good morning, Pa!

It’s been a LONG morning, though. I’ve been up for 7 hours already and it’s only 8:30! I’m on call most of the night’s this week and have been getting LOTS of calls in the middle of the night when typically, I rarely even get 1 call. I haven’t had to go out and do any x-rays, but the phone calls wake me up just the same and it’s really hard to fall back to sleep after the 2nd one. Last night I got 4 and that was all she wrote. I tried for 2 hours to fall back to sleep before I said fuck it, got up, and started in the kitchen. It turned out to be a good thing because I got alot of prep work done for lunch today and I made Holt a big birthday breakfast since he’s working all day.

It’s my husband’s birthday today as well as turkey day. I’m taking him to see SCI tomorrow night for his present, but as tired as I am, I wonder if I can stay awake!

Lunch today is going to be sooo yummy, but there will be LOTS of leftover food since it will just be me and Makenzie. I don’t really care for the big turkey, so I’m making a roast instead with broccoli and squash casseroles, strawberry-pretzel salad, and possibly mashed potatoes for my daughter. Carb overkill and I love it! I know I could have done something smaller or gone out to dinner, but I wasn’t willing to give up one of my favorite meals of the year.

Since all the big stuff is done, I’m hoping to grab a nap soon if I can finally fall asleep. I’ve got x-rays to do starting at 4, so I don’t have alot of down time today unfortunately :frowning: I’m making lots of bank, but honestly I’ll be so glad when this week is over and I can REST.

Have a happy day, okp!

Happy thanksgiving morning okpeoples! Go eat way too much!

^Yes, yes we will.

By the way, I meant to post this on Monday after our trip to the city and a stop at the American Girl Place on 5th Avenue. This place is unbelievable for the marketing genius behind it. The ‘exclusive’ dolls they sell go for 100 bucks, but what floors me are the accessories.

Take this one for instance. The price is ONLY for the dress and the stupid little pin at the waste. Everything else is separately priced.

I mean, I can’t even remember when I bought a dress shirt or a pair of pants that cost $37 or more.

^I am always appalled at the prices of their stuff when I see it. It’s nice when you can find someone who makes them privately or another knockoff doll brand that has the same size clothes and not pay their ridiculous prices. The horse accessory for the doll is something like $75 bucks!

Good morning OKP! Have a great day.

^This is why I don’t shop.

Mornin!

Loves to you all!!

Hope you have a great weekend planned!!

Be well!!!

MORNIN! Nabb’d the White Record this morning at RETAIL YEAH1111!!!

Hope you’re all enjoying teh Friday. I’m at work, but only for like an hour … then disc golf. Night gig in Boston. It’s a good day.
:sunglasses:

Morning Pa. My Thanksgiving was very good. I’m heading out to Saratoga today for an overnight getaway. Hoping to have a nice soak in the mineral waters. Beautiful day for a little trip. Gotta love 55 degree temps at the end of November! Heh? Heh? ::Looks around for Edward::

Whattup yo, OKP?

The turkey never finished but the yams were good.

Should be about 80 in this here desert today. Perfect weather for not shopping.

Rock on, Pa!

Ug…been trying desperately to buy a 160GB PS3 for my brother on Amazon (free shipping!) all morning but the site is royally screwed. Hopefully they get it working later.

OK, three days away from the last Good Morning thread, let’s get this week going…

The holiday is over, let’s get the next one started in here! Actually, Will has already with his Secret Santa shout outs. It’s unbelievable how soon Christmas will be upon us. Marie and I are getting nervous about it because we’re doing a full shopping this year.

In the past two years we’ve taken the family away as the major part of their gifts, but we’re not doing it this year, so it’s time to start one of my least favorite activities, Christmas shopping. Fortunately, Marie has to do most of it because she understands what the girls want better than I. I get to buy for the ‘men’ and that only includes four people, most of whom don’t give a damn what they get,

My gson will sit down with me this week and show me the website where I can order exactly what he wants. He has everything all calculated as to how to get everything he wants from the different people who will gift him each Christmas based upon dollar amounts spent in previous years, adjusting for inflation along the way. He’s incredibly funny.

So here we are at the start of the week, ugly as it is, hoping all of the OKP has a great day in spite of it.

I think I have a case of the Mondays… Rain and grey skies… Not nearly as nice as Blue Sky.

Mornin!

Loves to you all!

Hope you all have a great Monday…

Be well!!!

Sluggish Monday here. Thanksgiving wiped me out and to top it off, caught a nasty stomach flu. Feeling much better today but my bed would be so nice.

1 more week of 8am calculus and I will be free forever!

Happy Monday!

Morning! ^Sucks to be sick at the holidays!

Me, I had a totally perfect weekend. Two gigs, FOUR rounds of disc golf, plenty of food & family, (ya gotta put food on your family) - and I got my highly coveted White Tape vinyl. I’m amazed by this simple item. Getting an album on vinyl often increases my appreciation of that album by a whole lot, and this is no exception. The vinyl format lends itself better to my attention! I found myself listening more closely & patiently than ever to this album, and I think I’ll be damned if I let this entire website get away with not discussing the Dave’s Energy Guide right under our collective nose, right on side the fuck two.

Well then!

Good Morning!!

Coffee #1.5!!!

Good morning!

It’s rainy today, but I could care less since I’m not on call tonight for the first time in about 2 weeks, YAYYYYYY! Now, granted I volunteered for it and I made a boatload of money doing it, but I’m freaking exhausted. Last week was crazy during normal business hours and then add the night time call and I was a zombie by this past weekend. So glad it’s over…now gimme my paycheck

Had a good holiday weekend. Cooked a bunch of food. Ate a bunchy of food. Went to SCI Friday night at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium. It was okay. They definitely got all disco biscut-y, but I guess that’s what they do now. I was so exhausted I sat down the majority of the second set and even nodded off a few times. It couldn’t be helped. We hung out with Geulah/Justin and made sure I stuffed him up good after the show with our holiday leftovers before we all crashed.

This week I’ll be recovering from the past couple of weeks and majorly destressing. Hope you all had a great holiday weekend and that the week is good to you.
Peas!

So I woke up the other morning really early at Ollie’s house (after the first night of the String Cheese Tour) and saw a text from Hank. Then I saw Ollie, and she said she had just had a dream that Hank spilled red wine on her nice couch! HAHA

Had fun in Asheville, Ollie! Thanks always for the hospitality. Sorry I took Holt’s charger.

Went to the Fox in ATL for SCI and had a BLAST. Ate the best L of my life, and had once again another GREAT experience with Cheese at the Fox! But then my night got crazy. We kind of got ditched by our driver so I had to drive. I did fine, and it was kinda fun actually, but I didn’t like that I had to. I also don’t like the fact that I went the opposite direction for an hour before I realized what I had done. The owner of the car kinda flipped and threw out my liquor, diabetes meds, clif bars, the L, and a bag of green. Not fun. Got a hotel at like 6 am to start over…

Got to Nashville last night, and went to a place called the Flying Saucer. It was ok. Stayed with some old friends from Knoxville. Gearing up for SCI at the Ryman tonight to finish the run.

SCI is KILLING IT! Look on Youtube if you don’t believe me. They’re back! They are smilin’ and high fivin’ and jamming as good as they ever did. FUCK YEAH! I think they are gonna start touring regularly again. I hope so.

Anyways, good moooooorrrrrrrninnnnnnnggggg…

/loves

Dude, that sucks! I’d be soooooo pissed, maybe permanently!! All because you drove the wrong direction for a while??

^^Yeah, that is a bizarre reaction to your mistake.

Morning 'Pa. Nothing much to report today except for maybe another stellar drive to work this morning thanks mostly to a killer Fluff from '99.

Have to visit the doc tomorrow morning. Made an appointment because I developed minor vertigo last week, and Marie is after me to discuss things with a ‘professional’. Don’t like running to them with every twitch of the system, and especially don’t want to be medicated unnecessarily.

Have a telecon in 30 that I have to prep for. Have a great Tuesday, oh OKP.
