Good Morning Oh Kee Pa (Part 1)

morning…

been sleeping in way more than usual the past few days…more like just sleeping away the mornings after I initially wake up at 8 cuz I don’t have much else to do.

so I’m rockin my normal coffee/bluegrass/smoke morning routine after noon today

I’ve felt the same way after getting to know a few different okp’ers, some immediate, some seemed to develope over a bit of time spent with them

Drew and I got together for lunch one day in Cincy and ended up jamming on guitars for what seemed like hrs at a music store, felt like I had known him for years, met Judson for the first time and I have never had a whole lot of contact with him on here but I felt that same sort of immediate kindness and connection with him, then there’s cats like matty and Jae who pulled me aside and told me if I ever need anyone to talk to they are always willing to listen, and of course Keith, my obi won kenobi (pretty self explanatory)

And no I didn’t forget you little, probably the one I’ve spent the most time with in person, I consider him along with most everyone else a part of an extended family, I know he’s dealing with some stuff back hone and offered him a place to stay if he needed to get away for a bit, that offer still stands brother, most folks I know would be the same way on here it’s just I haven’t gotten a chance to spend as much personal time with those, like bill and Dan and of course Sean, I even mentioned to drew how badly I wanted to hang out with bill and asked jud about Sean, lets just throw down on an OKP island and a tour jet, sound good? K cool

Happy Monday OKP.

Well if it’s not ‘happy’ (especially for those done with tour for a while), it can’t be that bad because of the holiday on Wednesday.

What a great afterglow the family, Marie and I had after Friday night. Can’t begin to thank Matt enough for what he gave us. There was certainly some Yanni-envy among our three ‘adult’ children this weekend, especially from the one who likes Yanni and couldn’t get out of work to go.

But all of the girls and most of the gkids (Jaime is "too old for that stuff now’ and ‘I’d rather go to incline’) have committed to the march in the Kazoo Band once again on Wednesday morning in Ocean Grove, and we’re all looking forward to it. Yesterday we to Costco mostly to buy these 8lb bags of wrapped hard candy for the parade. It’s a tradition for the marchers to throw candy to the children watching on the sidewalks, and our gkids think that is the best part of the parade for them. It’s a hoot. Or should I say a ‘kazoot’.

Well, off for some lawn maintenance this morning before it gets into the 90s again. Less humid here in NJ, so it’s not bad this morning. Will probably have to turn the AC on again by midday.

Have a great one.

^You go Kazoo the hell outta that parade Bill!!!

Well, I just want to send a big thank you guys to the band I call the Pheesh.

5 shows in 8 days was truly a treat.

I’m not sure what more I could have asked for from these guys. Maybe they could turn down the heat in DC next time, but what a fucking run. THAT’s the mid west love I’m talking about.

This work thing blows. I want to be on my way to JB this morning, not stuck in the office.

But I can honestly say that my phish fix was met and exceeded over the last week.

Great times with great friends and everything went off without a hitch.

Thank you Phish for doing what you do.

Great morning Pa

^2nd’d

Great times on the road seeing Phish over the last week. Haven’t heard anything about last night’s show, only saw the setlist. But if they’ve been playing the same way the setlist is irrelevant.

Monday and back to work.

Listening to the '94 Glens Falls CC show and writing some code.

This is also my first post in a couple of years. Good to see fone and marley still around! After spending the past few months listening to a lot more phish and catching a few shows again, it was only natural that I started reading OKP again. So I’ve been browsing the boards for the past weeks, but when I read the above posts this morning I had to jump in.

More on subject, I had the pleasure of meeting a few OKP members at the hampton shows in '09 and it was an awesome experience.

^welcome back!

Good mornin!

Somehow I think I can get away with cooking an eggplant casserole AND cutting the lawn after work tonight.

Taking serious break from drinking & teh herbz, and also disc golf. Need to focus. My life’s a little wacked out lately. Broke, trouble w/ kids, fighting w/wife again, time to reel it all in and take inventory.

Hope you dudes have a decent enough Monday.

^You too, Kevin. Good thoughts and wishes. What is eggplant casserole all about? I’m intrigued.

Good after morn Pa. My sleep schedule is a never ending thorn in my side. Right now, I’m on vacation and I have managed to work my way right back into staying up super late and sleeping later each morning so that when I go back to work next week, it will take me all 6 weeks of my summer schedule to get reacclimated to early to bed/rise.

I have come to realize I have a little caterpillar infestation on a few of my plants. I saw one a few days ago and considered keeping it and watching it pupate, but, upon closer inspection, I see I have several spread over 2 or 3 plants.

Phish. Wow. Every night I take a look at the setlist and marvel.

Goooooood Mornin, OKP!

Is it a holiday today? I think it may be…

Would people even notice holidays if they weren’t given the day off? Probably not…

But, hey… happy holiday! Go roast a pig or kill a British person or something! (Well, not you glenn… you don’t get no stinkin holiday :stuck_out_tongue: ).

Mornin!

Loves to you all!

Lost a close friend while driving from Alpine to get home early Monday, but I was too late…

Hard day today!

Be well!

Jeez, Ryan. My condolences. I hope you don’t dwell on the “I was too late” thing. It is not important where you were, only how you were as a friend throughout your time together.

I couldn’t wait to sass Dooj for not realizing the 3rd of July is not the holiday and calling him a terrorist for his mistake, but now my heart just isn’t in it. I’ll leave it at calling him an unpatriotic flag burner.

Afternoon, Pa! I’m currently resting up for a big evening of trivia and karaoke. Please telepathically send me all your extra brain cells and vocal tuning.

Of course I know what the 4th of July is katie… :unamused: :stuck_out_tongue: :ugeek: :nerd:

But i think we all know it’s supposed to be the 2nd. Amiright??? :eh: :eh: But, yeah, I was under the impression maybe people do the monday off or tuesday off ‘observed’ holiday thingee.

Happy 4th of July.

Up, showered and dressed and about to leave for Ocean Grove to meet the rest of the kazoo band for our ten minutes of practice that we have every year just before the parade. Love a band that you don’t have to rehearse for constantly.

Nearly the whole family is marching this year along with friends that they’re bringing along. This is the first year that it’s been overcast for the parade, but we have no issue with that if it means it’ll be a little cooler for us.

Hope your 4th is as fun as this one will be for us!

^Have a great time, fone! Sounds like it’s gonna be quite a band!

I’d love to take the day off, but this work ain’t gonna do itself! :imp:

That’s alright… I don’t mind the British anyways, to tell you the truth. Their accents are cool and they gave us the OhKeePa. And fish and chips are absolutely delicious…

Anyways, have a great day, peeps!

::burns flag, but don’t worry, it’s just a generic one::

::goes to work like a good american::

Happy Independence Day, folks! Have a great one. (Even the flag burning hippies. Hey, that flag was made in China! Infidel!)

Good morning. This relentless heat is killing me.

Good morning, this Killing Me (Softly) heat is relentless.

Mornin!

Loves to you all!

Been sick as have 17 out of the 20-21 folks I was with at AV, horrible. I have lost weight! Eww, time to get well!

Be well all!

Bring that heat over here to SoCal, it’s frickin freezing in these parts, ya hear???!!! :eh: :eh:

Morning.

Morning dudes. I’m sore today, just a bit. 54 holes of disc golf yesterday. My brother and I camped out with some of our kids Tuesday night and went disc golf crazy all day Wednesday.

It was like, games & fire & burgers & dogs & popcorn & roasted marshmallows > sleep > heavy rain > pack up wet campsite while cooking bacon & eggs & eng. muffins > Webster Fish & Game for two rounds > Marshall St. Pro Shop for some new plastic > getting lost for a while > finding Charlton Woods & acing hole 13 on my first ever round there  > pizza/beer/fireworks … what a 4th we had. My son declared it the ‘best 4th of July ever … well, that I’ve had’ he says.

All hopped up on the Queenswreck still. I joined a forum, and I think I’ll not go back there for a while. The administrator is the biggest prick! Makes me appreciate the OKP that much more. Thanks for all the freedom you allow us Ian, … and while I’m at it, on behalf of America, thanks to all you Brits for letting us go.
