Hey PeiYi, Kev, Matt, Sean, Eli!, Chris.
It’s Friday, beautiful, cool and clear in this neck of the woods (hmmmmm, ‘neck of the woods’, interesting euphemism, wonder about its derivation). Have some car related chores I have to take care of today. Back tail lights on my car, but have to arrange for a new windshield on Marie’s car. Fricken bus in front of us on the GSP Sunday kicked a stone perfectly into the corner of the windshield. The crack spread within the first 24 hours to a point where it’s just too big to be repaired.
Marie’s work is stress filled these days as the new budget year is about to kick off for federal money to the state’s social service programs. But in early October she wants to get away for a week to forget about work, this past summer and things in general. Thinking about driving to the Thousand Islands area on the St Lawrence, and maybe a short jaunt into Montreal.
We also love the Finger Lakes area and are considering a stopover for some wine and grape pie, a delicacy that’s rarely found outside of some the more rural towns in the western part of NY state where concord grapes are an important crop.
Hope everyone has a great end to the week.
