Good Morning OKP. Nice almost Autumn day in NJ. Still having a little difficulty being back to work after a great week off, but I’m getting used to it.
Had to babysit my grandson and his sisters on Monday night, and was able to play some Wii sports with him. That little bugger bested me in baseball and showed me how to throw all the different pitches. But I kicked his butt in tennis and bowling, and wound up having a great time together to the point when he was ready to leave, he sought me out and gave me one of the best hugs I’ve ever gotten.
Take my word for it, a meaningful hug from a grandchild is one of the best things in life. I wish all of you who share this wonderful OKP with me, many of these hugs in your future.

I’m in a decent mood today … the weather is nice as can be, and I’ve successfully made it to another day at the office.
I’ve had kind of a crappy week, but my spirits are up. I pulled a muscle in my back and can’t hardly move too good … saw my doc yesterday about it. Played in front of the video cameras in a TV studio in Attleboro MA for a ONE HOUR show on me and my songs (I have to go back next week for the interview portion). I was disappointed in the quality of my own performance, so that sucks right there. I didn’t train wreck anything, but I sure wasn’t playing at my most fluid. And I wasn’t coming across the way I’d hoped I would - like I didn’t act serious enough or something.
But then you know what? Here I am, new day. As we like to say after a bad disc golf hole, “that hole’s over.” Or as Larry Donner tells himself in Throw Momma From The Train, "So Margaret’s a big star now, that’s life. This is life too; that goes on, this goes on.

getting ready for some off-season camping this weekend at the silver lake sand dunes. ten of us going, only two of which are girls. so, serious vaj shortage but oh well. i’ve been hiking a lot lately to prepare for the dune climbs. i think my legs will be fine, but the cigarette habit might make itself apparent.

Well, my car wouldn’t start this morning. Luckily we just got a second vehicle, so I managed to make it to work on time. I’m not looking forward to the phone call telling me how much this is going to cost. Arghhh…I can’t afford this shit. Anyone want to buy a kidney?

Yeah I quite enjoy September and October too, especially now that it doesn’t mean going back to school for me.
Even though I wasted this day watching the Twins lose in 10 innings to F’n Kansas City, and now I gotta work til 10:30. Oh well.
It seems strange that it’s been 5 years since I was starting my last year in college.
Good times. I’ve had a lot of good times since, but I’ll be damned if those 4 years weren’t the best times of my life.

I just got a gift card for Newbury Comics … and the new Metallica comes out today! I mean to get that on vinyl, should be a good time. I keep hearing that it’s very very good, from everyone who’s heard it. Seems there are a lot of people saying it’s just them trying too hard to be vintage Metallica, but I’ve also noticed that those are the folks that haven’t heard it yet.
Anyway they’ve got a sale on vinyl all weekend, and on used CDs and other stuff too.
But yeah, good morning! More coffee!

I had a decent weekend.
Went to my first Purdue football game in at least 15 years. Too bad they lost in 2OT. As soon as they went up 20-3 I thought “well, there’s no way this lasts.” And it didn’t. Haven’t beaten a ranked opponent in 5 years (0-15).
