Marie castigated me for not enjoying my good fortune at having scored the golden tickets for Hampton. Tried to explain the whole Bodhisatva thing to her, but she’d have none of it. She told me that I should be rejoicing in having attained something I really wanted against pretty remarkable odds, and that I was foolish to let anything rob me of that happiness.
Guess she just doesn’t know how much I love you folks and want you to be in Hampton too.
She also told me to start wanting the winning megalottery ticket as much as I wanted these tickets.
I should have changed my name to willhamptons…
I have learned my lesson

Morning all. One of my long work days today and I’m not ready for it. Was up late last night anguishing over Thanksgiving with Marie. One of our daughter’s is living with a guy who is the biggest douchebag this side of John Murtha. Earlier this year he had her arrested for flinging a makeup case at him that bounced off the wall, something came out and hit him in the mouth. She was taken from her apartment in cuffs while our 12 year old granddaughter pleaded with him not to do this.
Since then, she’s forgiven him after a long separation and they’re living together again. But the family hasn’t had closure on that incident or the rest of his crappy behavior including the way he treats Livy. I know family dramas happen all over for everyone, but this is really a mind-numbing one for Marie and I. We don’t want Jen and Liv not to be at our table on Thanksgiving, but the only way we get that is if he comes as well. One of those no reasonable alternative deals.
Oh well, hope you all have a great Thursday, and that we can start enjoying some Autumn crispness in the air soon.
