Did anyone get to any of these concerts?
Marie and I were in the city on Saturday afternoon to meet up with some friends from Virginia, one of whom had come for knee surgery at the Cornell downstate hospital complex in east 70s.
But on our way there, we stopped at the Green Apple Music Fest stage setup on Vanderbuilt Ave., right next to Grand Central Station. I wanted to make it into the city early enough to hear Zero which opened the shows at that location at noon, but we didn’t make it in time.
But we did stick around for about four songs by State Radio, and even though the music was a little harder than I prefer, I was dutifully impressed. If I didn’t have other obligations, I could have easily hung out there for the rest of the day.
btw, Funky, on the walk over from the west side, I passed someone on the street as we approached the Vanderbuilt Ave concert area, that looked an awful lot like you, but I just wasn’t sure enough to ask. Were you anywhere in the midtown area in the east 40s around 2-230?
