The fight against yem is lame. I know he might have wronged some people, but everyone one of his posts gets responded to with some kind of insult or something. Yem obviously wants to be here for some reason, and he’s trying to let it go…lets forget about it.
I may be out of place because this really hasn’t impacted me directly, so you all can ignore this if you choose, but isn’t hating on Yem part of the Bushian age that is ending? In the spirit of the coming Obamian cycle of a kinder, more compassionate people, can we let up on the personal attacks and only counter Yem’s arguments from a rational position?
Whatever happened between Will and Yem should really be settled privately between them, and the rest of us should get on with this and stop ragging his new arguments based upon his past behaviors. Where’s genuine forgiveness, where’s the breeze when things get contentious?
Most of everyone’s position with respect to Greg, and now Yem, has been for them to just deal with the shit they stir up on the threads through their choice of words and the attitudes they project. This is the internet and that’s the way it works. And I can go along with that as well. But aren’t we all taking Greg and Yem more seriously than we really need to, at least as seriously as they’re taking us? All of us can discount their posts as crap and just not react and scroll on. Sometimes it’s the wiser option since you may never be able to convince them how ludicrous their position is.
I’m also afraid, that when individuals are put upon by the masses, trying to defend yourself against such an onslaught can make you irrational and not really representative of who or what you wanted to say and be in the first place. There’s so much room for misinterpretation among us that I’m always willing to give people the benefit of the doubt.
How about at least trying a 2009 OKP group New Year’s resolution to bury all of this past conflict, and start dealing with one another from a more accepting, or at least a non-confrontational stance? We have nothing to lose, and more to gain in our information exchange with each other, and how we feel about ourselves at the start of the new year.
Will seems willing to disengage from Yem, and I think this may be a good method to keeping the breeze alive.

I don’t really care about the Will/discs thing. That was a long time ago and doesn’t involve me.
The fact is, the kid comes on here and makes it a point to mention his heroin addiction at age 9, how tough he is and how many “badass” people he knows. And then he threatens to kill someone who makes fun of him for that. Pretty breezy, right?
I simply think he is crazy, and not in the good way. I also think it has to be at least partly an act, because know one with any sense would type such moronic and aggressive things.

I just meant that I think Bill is right that we should try to forgive and be nice to most everybody, but I just can’t go along with that philosophy with YEM, at least not yet. If he would have came back a changed, more nicer person, it could have been different. But it seems to me he has the same persona, and I’m not a fan.
