Halloween Shows

I’ve got '94 & '96 … 1994 is my kind of PHish, and the white album is one of my favorite-ever albums, so it’s no contest. Still, 1996 is a great listen. I love the Forbin’s, and I actually love the tuning problem in set I … it just makes the live-ness a bit more vivid.

Welp, I wanted to wait and hear the Who’s version before I heard Phish’s Quadrophenia. I’m currently getting VERY into the Who, and I’ve just started on that album.

Which means next time my Phish itch begins to itch again I’ll be grabbing that show and going “OH MY GOD THIS BAND IS SO AWESOME HOW COME I KEEP CEASING TO CONSCIOUSLY ACKNOWLEDGE IT.”

:: briefly considers changing that punctuation to a question mark::

id say 96 is best cover 94 is best show

Yeah, I’m not crazy about how the white album came out. It was a respectable job, but ultimately they’ve done better cover jobs of just about everything else!

Yeah, although I can’t comment on 95 since I haven’t heard it yet, the covers they did in 96 and 98 are far superior to what they did with the White Album.

I had a blast in Chicago and Vegas. Loaded was the best album cover cuz i like to dance and i did not dance much during Quadrophenia. Not to say that 95 was bad cuz i truely enjoyed it while not dancing. After Once in a lifetime 96 gets boring to me but i can understand how cool it was to see it. 94 had to be the most special because of the freshness and mystery to this idea. I would not trade the 2 i saw for the 2 i did not see. But the first and 3rd set of 96 are tops for Halloween IMO!

Sidenote: There is a better than 50/50 chance that if they played one in 97, all this talk would be squashed by the show that never happened!

'96 is easily my favorite, but all of them have great moments.

I agree the Talking Heads set gets a bit slow in the last 1/3, but the first 5 tunes are just so great.

And set 3 is a nearly perfect set. Brother, 2001–>Maze, Simple–>Swept Away–>JJLC–> Suzy. Frankenstein Encore. Perfect.

My personal favorite would have to be at the Spectrum in '06 when they got their Rat On!

^i still cant believe i missed that show

“Physical Graffiti” is the one I wish they had covered. And it would have destroyed in '97!
