HAPPY ANNIVERSARY *Thank You!*

Fall '96 kicked Simple’s ass.
Most nights, they would take it and open that shit wide open.
Here is an underrated and lengthy version.

While I’m not the biggest fan of the UIC run from 9 years ago, I am a big fan of this Bathtub Gin.
I love how Page spaces it out in the middle.
A real funk monster for your Friday.

^ my favorite 98 gin and i think i only missed 2 or 3!

Which ones did you miss?

Tell me.

Tell me right now.

waits on edge of seat

Missed Providence, Riverport, VA Beach and Lemonwheel. So 4 and Europe. I think they did 1 or 2 in europe?

Why didn’t you go to Lemonwheel?

In 97 and 98 i decided to forgo the maine trip in order to see more west coast shows!

Those 4 American versions are Tits with a capital T!

Especially the “Gin->Cities” from Providence.

I love all the Gins from 98. They kept that song real fresh while playing it regularly! In fact i was so impressed with Gin in 98 i called it for the New years song before we set out for NY that Dec. First show went by and no Gin so i’m feelin confident. Next 2 shows go by and no gin. Auld Lange syne is being played and i was almost confident enough to write BT Gin on my list next but i did not. I did however write Runaway Jim and they never played the Gin on the whole run!

I’m heading out until Sunday afternoon, so I’ll post tomorrow’s link right now.

From 12 years ago and from the “dark horse” of the Fox run is the MONSTER YEM!
I love how they slow it down (a la the 12-03-1997 Post-Possum jam) once returning back into YEM.
Required listening, folks!

It’s a double dizzle!

From my favorite show of the Fall '98 Tour comes two badass links.

First, is a face searing Ghost.
It starts off funky as hell then turns into an outright tit-ripper!

Second, is a psychedelic and lengthy Halley’s.
Truly one of the greatest versions they played.
Check 'em out!

Three cheers for fall '98!

Here is some more required listening to get your Monday going.
After a week long break in the Tour, the band came back with el fuego.
I love how this Disease wastes no time getting into the EVIL territory.
Buttery smoove transitions in and out of Have Mercy, too.
Check it.

IT’S ANOTHER DOUBLE-DIZZLE!

First off, is the CLASSIC Suzy from 11 years ago.
This was the first time the “Post Suzy Jam” was performed, and boy was it funky.

The second selection comes from a real spotty show from Fall '98.
Without a doubt, this is the best version of Meat they played.
Not only is it spacey as hell, it actually contains a brief jam and a sweet segue into Hood.
Check this if you have never heard it.

You know I’ve always heard/read that “Suzy” is good but I’ve never actually heard that version.

And I’ve also often wondered why they didn’t jam “Meat” out a little more often. It’s a pretty basic song so I would think they could take it in a lot of different directions.

Thanks a!

Now you know AT!
