man, I can not describe how happy seeing this made me.
my birthday was similar to the one 16 candles, except i am a 22 year old man, and it was not a wedding that over shadowed my birthday it was a mattress being delivered. (that is not a joke my roommate actually asked me to wish him a “happy new mattress day”)
I have 4 roommates, not one wished me a happy birthday. so what did i do? I went to the driving range…alone, and then saw star trek… alone.
my parents called, I pretended like I was having a great day, and my oldest friend only sent me a text message that said “I think you should read pride and prejudice and zombies oh yeah happy birthday”
I then bought a very small cake and ate it alone in my room.
today around 6 my roommates came into my room asked if yesterday was my birthday said they felt like jerks and handed me a cake that just said “late” AND NEVER SAID SORRY OR HAPPY BIRTHDAY WHICH WAS ALL THAT I NEEDED.

and then I come here, a phish forum that I have not been to in many months and some people were nice enough to wish me a happy birthday even though they have never met me and did not know if I would even come to the site to read it. THANK YOU! Seriously seeing this was the highlight of my birthday.

We’ve all had birthdays like this at one time or another, and if weren’t for our parents making big deals out of birthdays when we were kids, we might not have ever been so affected.
But, d00d, you’re going to see Phish. Can’t think of a better way to celebrate.
