Hardest tickets this summer?

So we all know that extras were pretty easy to come across at most Phish shows last year. But there definitely were some exceptions, particularly Asheville, Red Rocks and of course Hampton.

So what are you expecting the tough tickets to be this summer?

certainly Telluride and the Greek stand out to me with their small (for Phish) capacities and desirable environments. But what about any other situations on the list?

one night stand at Great Woods?

tour opener in Chicago?

4th of July first leg closer at a 12,000 capacity shed in centrally located Georgia being the clear destination for all SouthEast heads?

any speculation/predictions?

Greek and the 4th im guessing…Maybe Telluride??

Everything else seems simple…Alpine will have tix on the ground for sure again…Toyota holds 28,000, there will be extras…West Coast fans will have to make a pretty far journey for the opener…

I’ll equate things this way. Equal difficulty!

09 Asheville = 10 4th of July
09 St Louis = 10 Portsmouth
09 Red Rocks = 10 Telluride
09 Hampton = 10 Greek

In my opinion there will not be tons of cheap/free tix this year. The shows I mentioned above will be attacked by fans and scalpers. The other shows not so much. I mean there are many many fans who are not even gonna mailorder for the other shows and just go for the onsale. And even if you do mailorder for alpine or Deer Creek are you gonna place multiple orders? Probably not. That leaves the onsale. Are you going to buy extras at the onsale? Probaly not. So if the majority of fans and scalpers ignore those shows where are these cheap/free extras gonna come from? I believe that The abundance of extra tickets at these bigger shows will only be expensive pavillions that scalpers get to sell and a bunch of regular price lawn seats still available at the box office on showday! I guess we will have to wait and see.

+1

I’m starting to regret not putting in for the ATL lottery…I mean, it’s only 3 hours from me, which is the closest show of the summer for me! I have to be there for the 4th, especially now that there’s no Rothbury. Plus shows in ATL always rage!

Unfortunately I believe you’re right. But I’m not stressing, I have faith that I will get tickets for the fourth. Raleigh and Charlotte I’m not really worried about, but those Atlanta dates are going to be a bit tough.

I went for Telluride. Definitely going to be the coolest venue of the summer.

10 minutes til the door shuts. Thanks again to all who put in extra requests for us!

I didn’t think about ATL being so hard, but I should have figured. It’s equated with Asheville up there, and I got into Asheville, but I’ll be damned if I’m trading 3 other tickets and $45 for one set again!! (Then again, that was my first Phish show, and I had to be in there, so I don’t regret it at all.)

i put in for ATL.

gonna wing it in NC.

last year i went 0-15 in the lottery. Phish hates me but maybe they’ve forgiven me by now?

If Duane can forgive you, Phish can.

Fish in a can can too.

What about Alpine, it might be hard…

Not…

Toughest for me will be Atlanta for sure. I’ve got three requests in for those, then there’s the onsale, the oh keep pa and cash for your extra. I’m not too worried. The only thing is I think all four shows I’m going to go on sale at the same time.

yeah this is about right. Do you think Greek will be a harder ticket than Telluride?

^ Yes

Atlanta,telluride,the greek
and maybe Blossom Music Ctr

This douche bag I know (actually he is a friend of mine  , is a ticket “broker” and he said the brokers lost their ass last year on most Phish shows. They are not buying much this year—mostly pavillions, Tride and the Greek. Hoping on sale days will be easier than in the past…fairly certain it will be. Good luck to all!

Will there be any ticket in 2010 that would be harder than Hampton 3/6/09?

I love speculating about Phish, btw.
