Fucking awesome version!
8/20/93 - This Harpua are one of the songs that got me hooked on Phish. It’s my favorite version.
12/6/96 - I like the yodelers. Listen to Trey as he tries to yodel immediately after the yodelers have finished. You know he’s drunk. He butchers the yodelling scene that just went down. But possibly one of the best encores out there.

I think it’s just that no one here really listens to much younger phish…because that was like the only version they played in '96 so there is no way it could possibly be as tight as some crazy versions from '90-'92. Listen to 12/31/92 at least before you go and decide that the only Harpua from '96 is better than it. I don’t know, maybe the '96 one is the best, but I was hoping to hear about some awesome early Harpua’s…guess no one listens to those.
^ I definitely listen to the early Harps as well… But the 12/6/96 show just stands out because of the goofiness and guests… Whatever song they chose to play I would probably like the same, Harpua seemed like the perfect song though.

GLOWSTICK HARPUA
It is pretty much the begining of the Glowstick wars.

^ I HATE GLOWSTICK WARS, because they often happen during the sweetest jams and i try to concentrate on the jam but everyone is elbowing me in the face trying to get the glowstick, or i get hit with glowsticks… good harpua though.
I don’t care for Glowstick wars either.
I always ended up getting hit in the head, ALL THE TIME
It’s just that this Harpua kicks ass. The story is awesome and the music from this show is the real deal!

Anything from UIC in Chicago is good. Phish always played great there and I believe it’s Trey’s favorite venue? (one of them at least)
I went to UIC last Halloween weekend. No brews to purchase! I am not one to get plastered during a show (I like to remember stuff), but I do enjoy a drink or two during it to loosen up. Anyways… Thank goodness for the angel with a giant bag of ganja cookies walking around the floor, my H2O never tasted so good. Wish I had some milk to dunk the cookies in.
My favorite Harpua may now be 4-14-93. YEM->Spooky Jam->Harpua

Glowstick wars…I’m kinda on the fence.
It’s GREAT to watch during a jam, but in the back of my mind I keep thinking “goddamn I hope I don’t lose an eye…”. So it’s like I’m constantly looking around to see if they’re heading my way, taking away from my focus on the music. Hmmmm…If I didn’t have to worry about being drilled, I’m all for them!
