HEADPHONES JAM NOW AT LIVEPHISH.COM

"We are pleased to include a unique morsel of Phish to the growing LivePhish.com catalog. Phish’s “Headphones Jam” (also referred to as “Monitor Jam”) was recorded near the beginning of the Undermind sessions after Producer Tchad Blake arrived in Vermont and before the band began tracking most of the songs. The Forty-Seven minute jam was mixed on the fly in The Barn and named because it was recorded while the monitors (in this case headphones) mix was dialed in for the session. Two tracks were derived from the Headphones Jam and used on Undermind: “Maggie’s Revenge” and “Tiny” (an Undermind iTunes bonus track). A third segment of the jam was played during a 2004 “From the Archives” radio show on The Bunny. The rest of the complete jam had never been heard outside the band until the Barn Tour Contest in 2006.

The Jam was presented in November 2006 to the winner of the Phish / Sirius “Live In Brooklyn” Barn Tour Contest along with a guided tour of The Barn and autographed copy of “Live in Brooklyn”. The contest winner was given the option to hold onto the track or share it with the rest of the community. The winner decided to make this jam available to the public and asked LivePhish.com to help distribute it with the request that proceeds be donated to a designated charity of the winners’ choosing. In that sense, it follows in the charitable tradition of other LivePhish.com efforts like “New Orleans Relief” and support of the Mockingbird Foundation.

Proceeds from the sale of this track go to Ocean’s Harbor House, which provides services and housing for abused and neglected children in two local counties in New Jersey. Click here to download the show, or for more information."

 Nice

So am I!

how be it?

Whoa! was this the unrealeased music that the contest winner got?

What a guy. I would have kept it for myself fo sho…maybe then sell it back to Trey once he hits rock bottom.

j/k…don’t hate on Trey.

were they streaming this on livephish radio, or did you all buy it, that is you all who where listening to it

its on shakedown street brah. now start scowering the okp looking for it.

whos got the heady headphone jam

you wanna get spun?

i’ll spin you for a headphones jam

This just reminds me of how god damn excited I was when I heard Undermind for the first time and thought that maybe ‘Maggie’s Revenge’ was a huge jam tucked in the middle of the album but it’s only a few minutes.

I’m loving the first run through…

cant wait for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc

yes. good luck with your quest.

so can anyone who has downloaded it comment on what it is like?

or at least tell me if it’s worth my 9 bucks or not.

It is awesome man…I don’t think it is something you are going to listen to over and over and over, but it is unreleased studio phish jamming…what more can you ask for? They are tight and Page really shines, he does some really spacey stuff, and Fish just lays it down like only Fish can. Trey doesn’t do anything too flashy, but he doesn’t make any wrong moves either. He basically lets Page lead the jam and he adds a lot of texture.

Reminds me a lot of the Soundcheck and Tower Jams from the IT festival. Which makes me wonder why they didn’t do such a thing at Coventry.

i think it’s great. i would love to hear WAY more stuff like this than some of their ph shows.

listened to it about 3 times… i’m loving it…

starts slow ambient like any hour jam then just gradually builds and builds

fish is soo nasty at drums…
i take back anything negative i said about page, he is just too fuckin good on this track
trey does add a lot of color to it
mike keeps the beat goin

great jam

im convinced…downloading now
