i haven’t been following the autopsy details too closely, but they’re saying it wasn’t an OD. the prescription bottles on his nightstand were all nearly full. they think it might’ve been a chemical reaction gone bad just due to the different things he had in his system. so, all in all, just a bad twist of fate.
to add insult to injury (er, death), Fred Phelps and his “church” were at the funeral protesting and screaming to the grieving friends and family that Heath is currently burning in hell for his role in Brokeback Mountain. if anyone would like a good laugh or a dispairing gasp, check out www.godhatesfags.com.

i used to live in Ferndale, MI which has a relatively high gay population. really cool town actually. anyway, this guy and his church (which consists solely of his family members, of which there are at least 60) shows up one weekend (i think it was the weekend of an art festival or something like that) and protests. it was hilarious. he’s old as dirt, and just a nasty old fucker. they were all holding signs that said “God Hates Fags” and screaming and yelling and all kinds of shit. people were walking behind them with mops, “cleaning” where they stood. good times, good times.
Yeah, that Fred Phelps group is basically insane. I remember Drew and Mike here in Michigan got one of them on the phone and, holy crap, they’re so far out there they may as well live on Mars. Of course, there’s all these rumors that they basically only date and marry each other so there must be a lot of cousin-lovin going on.

Looks like it was confirmed by a NYC Medical Examiner that it was an accidental overdose of prescription medication.
I don’t know if that is different than an “accidental suicide.”
I think it would probably be the same thing.

“The city medical examiner’s spokeswoman said Ledger died “as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects” of the different drugs/effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine,” spokeswoman Ellen Borakove said in a statement.
The drugs are the generic names for the painkiller OxyContin, the anti-anxiety drugs Valium and Xanax, and the sleep aids Restoril and Unisom. Hydrocodone is a prescription painkiller.

I guess those seeking a high take the easy route by using “legal” (albeit prescription) methods.
What happened to just smoking pot and playing video games with your friends? That’s all I did in college, I never looked to take it to the next level with pills or hard drugs. So in that regard, to me anyway, pot was never a “gateway” drug.
But there are a million different types of personalities…some seek to get to that next level and do whatever it takes.
So true. I went to my doctor back in August with some symptoms that I feared meant I had a tumor or a bulging anurism. He assured me it was just stress and wrote me a prescription for Paxil. Seriously, you want me to take a pill because you think I have anxiety about the stress I’m under? I don’t even take anything when I have a headache. I resisted for a few weeks but eventually gave in when the physical symptoms persisted. I did start to feel better and pretty soon the physical symptoms disappeared. I still didn’t like the idea of taking it and decided I was done about 3 weeks ago. I heard all these bad stories about coming off a drug like paxil, but I haven’t taken one in 3 weeks and I’m good to go. Of course, I was taking the lowest dosage possible so perhaps that has something to do with it, but I kinda feel like maybe people just need to get a grip and stop letting their mind get the best of them. I dunno, jury’s still out.
drug tests, you can pop some pills if you have a script and not get into trouble, but you do something like blaze and your the damn devil b/c of some stupid ass laws
I still think that this could be a suicide. How could you take that many pills at once and not expect something to happen? Still seems very fishy to me but we’ll probably never know…

two pain killers, two anti-anxiety meds and two sleeping pills. i doubt he just took a handful of all six and ate them. and drugs stay in yer system…he coulda taken some of those days prior and theyd still be in his system. sure taking six different medications sounds crazy but maybe thats what he needed to do. shit…i hate pharmies…i dont even know what im saying.
