Hello from a happily married man!

Hey Guys! Long time no talk! I am just now getting to the point at work where I have some free time as it has taken me about a week and a half to catch up from being gone for two+ whole weeks. I have been lurking to pass some time, but I figured its about time to tell you guys about my big September.

So, I got married on September 9th. That weekend was so awesome and so intense. It was really great to have all my friends and family in town from all over the country. We had people in from NYC, Arizona, CA, Iowa, Minnesota, Nevada, Wisconsin, and Florida. Everybody was super nice to come from so far and it was incredible to see everyone from all over the country in one room in honor of Kim and my union.

We got married in this great private club that is on the 80th floor of an office building just south of Millenium Park here in Chicago. The room was perfect. It overlooked the park, the lake, and the rest of the city and provided a beautiful backdrop for the service. The party was pretty rauccus. All of my friends were really drunk and we commindeered an offical puffing room as well. People staid pretty late for a Sunday, and afterwords we trashed an expensive ass hotel room untill 4am. I’ll definitely post some pics as soon as my photographer posts them.

The next day we left for our honeymoon. I am going to have to write about this in an hour or two, but imagine this: Honeymoon cruise that starts in AMSTERDAM and goes to Brussels, France, Spain, Portugal, and Morrocco.

Best. Vacation. Ever.

I will fill you guys in after my meeting. IT feels really good to be back posting on the OKP, and I can honestly say that I missed reading all the good banter and your guys thoughts on stuff. The OKP kinda feels like home right now.

Welcome to the club. Mazol Tov!

Hey grabs, you gonna be at Ween on the 20th?

congrats grabs!

Thanks Guys! I really appreciate all your kind words. I am actually really lucky to have a wife who has also been my best friend for the last decade, so I don’t have to worry about all the petty shit that some couples get caught up in. We are both really happy and nothing has really changed all that much. Of course we are less then a month into the marriage and we have been living together for 6 and a half years.

The Honeymoon was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I have never felt so pampered and happy. We flew the day after the wedding to Amsterdam. British Airways bumped us to Business Class as soon as we said we were on our honeymoon. The seats were like heaven and they kept pouring me glass after glass of champaign until I passed out. Easily the best flight I have ever been on. It didn’t even feel like 8 hours. My seat had an ottoman! The airline did lose my bag, but by that time I didn’t really care. They got it back to me the next day.

Amsterdam is totally my new favorite city. The museums, the cafes, the canals, the pancakes, the fact that everybody speaks english, and of course the coffee shops all blew my mind. Kim and I definitely felt a little guilty going to Amsterdam on our honeymoon, but the cruise left from there so it isn’t really our fault. I am sure that our choice exposed us as the heads we are to some of our co-workers, oh well.

favorite coffee shop: Grey Area
favorite herb: White Jack from Hunter’s
favorite hash: SKANK, danish hash from Abraxis

We ended up bringing like 9 different kinds of herb and 3 different types of hash onto the cruise with us. It made for a great boat ride. Cruise ships are notorious for the non-stop eating and we took full advantage. One particularly memorable evening included a giant plate of Churros. Best. Munchie Food. Ever.

Kim taught me how to play craps on the ship. We ended up winning about $700! That was nice and added to our vacation of many vices.

We had a great time at all the ports. I especially enjoyed Lisbon and Barcelona. I will def have to go back to both of those cities. Morocco was a little stressfull. Our group had armed guards with us to keep us safe. The locals were chanting “Go Home, Go Home” Real nice, right? The group was rushed through the city. It was an exahusting day, but really interesting. I think Kim and I enjoyed it more then most on the boat. Many of the passengers were talking shit about the country and its inhabitants.

Anyway, the trip was super fantastic and I will def post some pics in the near future. I will also post the ones from my bachelor party as promised before. I am still trying to keep my head above water at work and I have done enough procrastinating for now.

sounds like a blast, congrats on your union, may it bring you happiness for an eternity
