here goes nuthin'....

Don’t blame me, I voted for Kodos.

yeah, yesterday the whole sky was totally surreal here. i don’t know if it was wishful thinking or if i was just seeing things or if it happens all the time and i just don’t notice, but there were lots of triangles in the clouds. very clearly defined triangles of all kinds of sizes from relatively small to huge and expansive. honestly i was a little unnerved by it given the timing.

and i’m still keeping an open mind. the day’s not over yet.

what time zone are we supposed to be focused on?

i really don’t know.

I tell ya one thing, any of dem martians come around here, I’m gonna kick their butts!

Wait…I think I see it…the lights…nope just a car.

I just went outside and I don’t see a DAMN THING!

I bet the fucking aliens forgot to set their alarm clocks again

“this means something.”

^ Yeah, it means Spielberg/Lucas have a chance to fuck up another good movie by making a lame CGI sequel.

maybe they’re the ones that got all the Phish tickets.

What a shitty day…

wowowow

well…

i guess i was wrong. i officially apologize to everyone here. so there ya go.

i have to tell you though, why i started this thread in the first place. i never mentioned this earlier because i had no proof and i was already putting my credibility on the line to begin with. also, i knew if i talked about it and if people disputed me as a liar, or nuts or whatever, i probably would just alienate myself further by trying to defend something i couldn’t prove by any stretch. it would have been extrememly frustrating. i wanted to wait. anyway, here it is:

on Tuesday September 23, around 10:30 pm i saw with my own eyes something very, very strange indeed. at least it was like NOTHING i’ve ever seen before. not even close. i’ll explain: i had just gotten out of my internship and it was a beautifully clear night. i’m a big star/constellation fanatic and i know a spot on top of a big hill out in the sticks where you can see the sky for miles and miles w/out too much city light-pollution. so anyway, i drove out there and parked and laid a blanket out on the ground and laid down on it. the stars were absolutely beautiful. they seemed to be unusually bright and clear that night, even for being way out there in the country, where they’re always a little brighter. and then there was something that was definately not a star. it was a pulsating orb of light that appeared suddenly in the northwest region of the sky out of nowhere. i had been there for at least 20 minutes already, so there’s no way i had missed it earlier. this thing just materialized. if all the other stars were just pinpricks, this was about the size of maybe a dime, probably a bit smaller. it just hovered and pulsed and flashed these faint colors. blue, pink, purple and yellow. the colors were kind of hard to see because this thing was just so fucking BRIGHT, but i could still see them. i was both completely in awe and frightened at the same time. in the end, i was too scared and i left after watching it for about maybe two or three minutes. seriously, when you see something like that and you’re alone out on a big hill in the country at night–it’s pretty freaky. i guess now i feel sure it was nothing to worry about and i definately wish i would’ve stayed longer.

i could still see it clearly as i was driving away, but eventually the trees blocked my view. once i hit some main roads i think it was still there but it had moved back much farther away. but really it was hard to tell. it was no longer there in such an obvious way at any rate. it’s pretty hard to explain what i was thinking and feeling at that moment. my hands were shaking, my heart was pounding and i didn’t know whether to laugh out loud with amazement or to go hide in a basement or what. there’s really no words for how bizarre and surreal it felt to see something like that. i settled down quite a bit on the drive home and started feeling more curious than anything else. i actually really wanted to see it again w/out the sense of shock and suprise, and i waited out in my back yard for quite a while just watching, but i never saw anything else.

so yeah, i went on youtube to see if i could find anything that matched or resembled what i saw, and of course i did find a few. i posted one of those in this thread, though that one is able to be seen in much more detail. but THAT’S what i saw. at least that’s what i think i saw. anyway, that’s when i stumbled across the 10-14-08 thing and became instantly obsessed with it. i waited a few days to try to gather my thoughts and figure out how i would actually say to a bunch of normal people (that would be you guys) that i think a giant extraterrestrial visitation is going to actually happen, and the rest is history.

so please forgive my persistence in this thread. i truly was feeling quite sure about it. and if i ever came off as snide toward our dear skeptics here, again, i’m sorry. underneath it all i’ve been defending myself and what i saw and i’ve had this attitude of “you’ll see”. i really wanted to tell this story, and was always planning to at some point, but i was really hoping it would have been in the context of something extraordinary happening for all of us so i wouldn’t come off as some kind of lunatic. wishful thinking i suppose. not to mention i had already started a ufo thread a while back because i developed a sudden interest in them for no real reason at all before all this happened, and i didn’t…you know…wanna be ‘that guy’. i see how unreasonably people who believe or claim to have seen them are treated and i didn’t want to be on the recieving end of that. and i also understand the other side of it. i never even really considered it until somewhat recently (and was never even really interested. i haven’t even seen Close Encounters and i’ve maybe watched a handful of X-Files episodes), and then i fucking saw one! it’s all tooooo much.

to those who are disappointed by today, i’m with you there. i was really hoping for this. not for just myself, but for everyone. i was really hoping that something extraordinary and of great positivity would happen on this earth, for once, to counterbalance all the negative and scary bullshit we’re subjected to every day. i actually feel pretty heartbroken about it all. BUT! they do exist. i know it w/out a shadow of a doubt. i have absolutely no idea if there’s such a thing as the galactic federation of light and all that stuff, but SOMETHING is out there. there’s no way i can be convinced otherwise.

okay, that’s about it. whether or not you’re a “believer”, i’m telling you just keep your eyes to the skies. you never know…there’s at least a possibility that you’ll see something amazing. and i really do think it’s becoming more “common” to see these things lately. if i never see anything like that ever again in my life, i’ll always know that one time i was lucky enough to. and i also know others have as well. that’ll just have to be good enough for me. but no more ufo/et threads form me i promise

peace

p.s. i owe you a soda spacecyote!

and if you guys could maybe not treat me like i’m completely cracked after telling that story, that would be great. thanks.

^no way man. I saw something just like that out in the Everglades a few years ago with my friend and uncle in the middle of the night.

We were out at this spot on the edge as i call it because it is THE line between the South Florida urban sprawl and the vast Everglades swamplands. Late at night one side of the sky is glowing orange with city lights and the other side is pitch black over the natural glades. And there’s rarely anyone out there (with the exception of an occasional party).

So we were out there just hanging out on the roof of my Volvo looking out into the swamps when we noticed a pulsating, color fluctuating light out over the darkness. Huge! and way brighter than any other lights in the sky. Like, drowning out all the stars and slowly changing colors and getting bigger and bigger and then it started getting smaller and we couldn’t tell if it was just hanging there or coming for us. Let me just say that i know what an airplane looks like and this was most DEFINITELY NOT A PLANE. We were all a little freaked out and didn’t know what to make of it.

And then it just…vanished.

We jumped back in the car and were about to take off when all of a sudden we heard a rumbling sound and headlights appeared from over the dunes. There’s no road coming from that way so this huge pick up truck that had just appeared must have been there the whole time. It drove out towards us and right passed us headed back out towards the road. We sat in the car perfectly still. The truck got to the intersection of the dirt road and the actual road but it turned out and went on to the closed road that goes out into the swamps and about a minute later it came screaming back and flew down the road running for its life. We waited a minute and followed.

it was insane.

but i wrote about all that other stuff a lot better and with more detail in the book i wrote but that’s not so much important here.

the important thing here is saying.

yes CJ…

I AM A BELIEVER

Told ya so.

LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO TO MY CAT!
ALL FOR NOTHING!

Asshole.

You crazy people and your UFO’s
It’s only a weather balloon people. :stuck_out_tongue:

I used to believe in aliens, but they don’t believe in me, so fuck 'em.

CJ and Co,

Next time you guys see something like that in the night’s sky don’t go to YouTube first. I mean this in all seriousness. Call someplace like the Franklin Institute in Philly, or any other major museum or observatory.

What you saw that night was most likely Mars, or another planet like Venus or Jupiter, possibly even Saturn*. It was stationary, correct, but it seemed to move slightly? It also pulsed a multi-colored light? There two answers for these phenomena.

[1] When eyes are focused on distant stationary objects your eyes begin to spasm very slightly, causing autokinetic movement. This means that as you strain your eyes to see this object your brain interprets the muscle movement in your eye as the object moving, even though it is not.

[2] Light traveling through our atmosphere must pass through layers of gas that can and do refract and distort light, allowing you to see various colors, like in a rainbow.

I’m not busting your balls here, I’m sure you guys are already a little upset by this whole thing. But from now on, as a favor to me, don’t research your theories on YouTube, please?

P.s. Someone owes me a Dandelion & Burdock soda…

:-*

*edit: Right now the planets that are closest to Earth are Mercury, Venus and Jupiter. Mars and Saturn are on the other side of the sun.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!

that’s the best thing i’ve ever seen ;D

Space, yeah i do owe you that soda. maybe we’ll share a six pack while everyone’s at Hampton in march
