Aquarius, and no, I don’t believe in meaningful natal astrology. It’s most often painted with a much too broad of stroke. There are patterns to personalities. Pyschologists have known this for years based on empirical data.
Do these now known as genetic patterns equate to some regular progression of stars and planets at birth? I’d have to see the empirical data on this to see if there is correlation. Maybe so, maybe not.
That being said, I do know, from first hand experience that there is validity to prognostication of events from the understanding of how transits relate to the natal chart. I don’t know how, I don’t even know if it was the astrology or my personal belief in it at the time, but I was able to predict major events in people’s lives happening within a pretty close period of time, in a fairly accurate degree of extent.
I got into studying transits pretty intensely after college, and got pretty good at forecasts of good and bad things happening to some of the people around me. I was averaging about 80% actual occurrence to about 60 % of the specifics of the event. It was fine when I got to tell people good news like when they would get a new job, or when a meeting would go well. That kind of stuff. But when I realized I was also right on the bad things, I gave away my books and never touched them again. I just didn’t want to be associated with that level of pain in people’s lives, especially since I believed there is really no way for anyone to avoid they’re destiny.
It got much too scary.

my gf is also a cancer (born 2 years and 2 days after me), and we are extrememly alike in many cancerian-ways. i mean extrememly. both good and bad. good: easy-going, attitudes of child-like curiosity toward life, can see the good in things, sexually bonkers. bad: solitary to a fault, avoid confrontation like the plague instead of just forming healthy boundries, indecisive and skittish much like squirrels.
i don’t see the astrology thing as black and white. i think there’s some truth to it but of course there’s lots of bs connected to it as well. who knows?

another Taurus vote here. I stopped reading mine years ago because, whoever writes up the Taurus ones are full of shit! The last straw for me was one I read that said something to the effect of “you will find love with a certain co-worker today” I’m like, ‘wtf? I work with a bunch of dudes? what’s this sayin’ I’m gay or something?!? That’s bullshit!! I’m gonna call in sick!’
