Hi Everyone!

Hello OKP!

So, I’m back.

Miss me?

I had a LONG week.

It is now time I confess to all that I had (have) an addiction.

I am one of millions who now have the moniker “alcoholic.”

I have been drinking a LOT for some time now and was in straight up denial.

I was drinking, at the end, a fifth or more of vodka a day.

In the morning, AT WORK, at lunch, after work, at night, throughout the night.

I was completely under it’s control.

Alcoholism is a DISEASE! not just an addiction, but a disease.

Alcoholism is the ONLY addiction that you can die from.

So anyhooooooo, I went in to a rehab facility. (Trey was not there).

I spent a week there, 4 days detox, 3 days of classes.

And to tell you all the truth, I HAVE NEVER FELT BETTER!!!

I just wanted to explain my unexplained absence to you all.

And I feel comfortable enough with all of you to share these things.

Thanks for listening.

It’s good to be back.

Glad to have you back!!

Sorry to hear about all you went through, but remember… you went through it. And now you “have never felt better.”

::holds hands::

SO glad you’re back!!! You had us pretty worried, but it was obviously so worth it for you to get your life back. I’m proud of you for getting help and I’m excited for you and your sobriety. Besides your “real world” friends, you know you have people here you can lean on day or night whenever times get tough. I wish you all the success in the world with your recovery…and if you ever disappear on me like that again…well, let’s just say you don’t want to find that lesson out the hard way!
We love ya!

Welcome back! We missed ya.

Welcome back! We missed ya.

Welcome back, man!

Glad to hear everything is on the right track, best of luck with everything!

Congratulations Brett. Glad to see you’re doing well.

Glad to hear you’re feeling better. Mornings on the OKP just weren’t the same.

Good to have you back Brett.

Just keep feelin that breeze brother. We here at the OKP can help with that.

BRETT!!

shit, man…glad to hear it all worked out.

welcome back, kotter.

Courageous move, Brett. Congratulations on the recognition of your illness and embarking upon the road to recovery.

It’s a road that has no ending, and if you’re ever feeling the urge to backslide, call out, either privately or publically. There isn’t anyone here who wouldn’t do what they can for you.

Welcome back.

Glad to have you back, Brett.

Good luck with your recovery.

Welcome Back, Brett!

my friend once went to fancy rehab out in arizona. it was full of d list celebrities and wall street wizards and their offspring. and she detoxed next to Mikey T. (Mike Tyson) she was in their for bulemia and he had no idea what that was. haha. sorry i felt the need for an anecdote.

Hey Brett good move and the absolute best of luck to you.

We are here for you and having personally confronted my addictions I truly understand where and what you are doing. As the days turn to months and months to years your new life emerges… much like a newborn coming out an egg or a phoenix rising from the ashes.

If I can be of any help then… well, I will be.

Glad your back.

big ups to you, mr. #9!

Good morning Brett!

Best to you on your newfound health quest - I’ve actually slowed down my drinking to almost nil (excepting the beers gifted to me at gigs!) … I was drinking too much for sure, and alchoholism’s not an appealing road. I don’t like craving it the day after I decide to take a break from drinking, and I feared it was a sign … so I decided to get away from it.

Look everyone, it’s Numbah 9, Numbah 9, Numbah 9, Numbah 9, Numbah 9, Numbah 9…

Anyway, it’s great that you’re back on track but PLEASE don’t say that alcoholism is a disease. A disease is something like cancer where you do absolutely nothing wrong and you can still get it. Alcoholism is, despite what some say, something you cause to happen to yourself. Don’t get me wrong…I’m sure it was EXTREMELY difficult to clean yourself up like you did but don’t buy the stuff about it being a disease. Either way, great to hear about it.

Stevo

dude…its a disease. dont be an a-hole.

Noun
* S: (n) disease - an impairment of health or a condition of abnormal functioning

I’d say drinking too much would fall under that category.

Good luck Bro. Remember, staying sober is easier than getting sober.
“and remember, Be Good, Family!”

and, um, El Bastarde? Check yourself right quick.
