How are you going to spend your stimulus check?

i immediately put my into my savings account but it was all but gone in less than a week due to unforeseen car repairs

I got mine about 2 weeks ago, and immediately deposited it into the bank. It came in handy, as I had an out-of-town wedding the following weekend.

It was also used to take a bigger bite out of my credit card debt as well.

So thanks, USofA!

Downpayment on a Honda CRV for Marie. Her Forester was pretty far gone.

Booze and hookers.

you all can learn a lesson in honesty from this man

at least he ain’t bullshitting you

Mine’s still burning a hole in my wallet. I won’t cash it so the government has to leave it in accounts payable. MWAHAHAHA. I’m screwing up their accounting!! MWAHAHAHAH Take THAT, government.

Seriously, I’m just going to deposit the thing.

My dad has a funny way of looking at taxes and refunds: his philosophy is that it is better to owe the government than to get a refund. He thinks that if you owe the government, that means that you’ve had their money for a year. If you’re owed a refund, that means they’ve had your money for a year.

I can’t really get on board with that thinking, but technically I suppose it makes sense.

wtf, I still haven’t gotten mine. My dad told me I was only getting 300, but I still want it.

and I’m going to spend it on Big League Chew. all of it.

It depends on what the last 2 numbers of your SSN are.

What are your last 2?

And what are your first 7?

hmm, the last two digits are 81

Yeah, you’re way back in the pack.

Mine are 48 and I received mine on 6/11.

What? Look at how in debt your country is, and the U.S. has the nerve to hand out free money to it’s citizens when it has Billions and Billions to pay back to countries overseas. What exactly is the logic behind this thinking again?

It’s like you come to me and are like “Man, that bitch just left me, and I’m not going to be able to afford rent this month. Is there any way you can lend me $1000 and I’ll get you back when I get my shit together”, and then I catch you out at the bar buying rounds for all your friends.

If that’s how your government is choosing to manage this deficit situation, I’d highly recommend you all start practicing that Chinese national anthem.

I KIND of understand this in that you should technically never owe or get money back from the government. I’ve managed to fix my exemptions on my W4 to where I only got about $40 back on my return this year which means I did pretty good. Technically you’d rather not have the government take your money on your paycheck even if they pay it back since those are some months that that money is not in a savings account, earning you interest. Not that big a deal but that’s the philosophy.

In the grand scheme of things, it is, of course, a horrible idea. Not only is it silly to give away money but they’re telling people to “spend spend spend” the money to stimulate the economy which is basically encouraging the people to make bad decisions with their money.

Of course, this is yet another example of the government not having a fricking clue how the economy works. Because they’re all lawyers, none of them know crap about economics and I’ve been ranting about this for years. Putting more money out to get people to spend more is just a small part of creating a strong economy.

However, on a personal note, if I could not pay a single cent of taxes to that worthless federal government of ours, I would. So I’m all for any policy, whether it be shortsided and retarded or not, which involves me getting free money. Heck, why not send me $600 every year? They’ve wasted countless thousands of dollars of my tax dollars on worthless garbage, why not just give it back to me so I can use it better? I say give me free money every year.

Why does everyone make this weird assumption that China is going to take us over? Unlike certain countries, China DOESN’T start wars with people for no reason. Besides, they’re already taking our market share…that’s more than enoguh…

It’s nothing to do with force. It has everything to do with the US being billions of dollars in debt to China, and having no forseeable way of paying them back.

Fuck it.

I say we launch a preemptive invasion of China.

2nd Friday in August sound good?

sounds good to me

i have mine at home, have to deposit it in the bank then transfer it to another bank so i can rake in on this shit interest rate b/c poor fuckers can’t pay for things they should have never boughten, such as a home that they couldn’t afford

Oh. That. Yeah, we might as well just wipe the National Debt off the books. It’s never going to get paid back, and it’s basically just a number at this point and I don’t think even the countries we owe expect us to pay. What are they going to do? Come here and demand the money? Please…the national debt is a joke. Besides, China is making all the money back by making all of the parts we use.

People still haven’t gotten theirs yet?? Damn, I spent mine a solid month or two ago. Gotta love electronic filing. I used mine to pay off an armoire I bought from World Market back in November.

I got mine over a month ago and it was gone within a couple weeks…
I was donating to the marijuana research association, headed by me.
