I suppose the one saving grace to both my parents being only children is that it drastically reduces the amount of funerals in my immediate family.
Although I did hear my mother comment last summer after her father passed away that that was a time she wished she wasn’t an only child. You know, for moral support and stuff.
ummm… I’ve missed a few but its somewhere around 10. Working at the nursing home has put the number of people I’ve seen die much higher then funerals attended.

Mine is somehwere around 6 or 7. I really don’t like going to funerals. First one was my Nan’s, when I was in 4th grade. the most recent was my Great Aunt Ray’s. And it was so sad and depressing because there were only like 10 people there. But she was an old lady, and was a bit of a miser by the end of her life.
Not sure exactly. Quite a few. The first I can rememer was my great grandmother. The next few were older relatives I didn’t know well but my parents still made us go. A few were kids I went to school with. One was my daughter’s father. The most recent was my Gee (mom’s father). Does anybody else find our customs on death disturbing? I mean, the visitation seems to border on torture for the family of the deceased. Plus the whole open casket thing is disgusting. I hope nobody ever stares at my dead body. I don’t know an exact count but I’ve probably been to around 10 or so.

Let’s see…grandma 1, great uncle, uncle, grandma 2, grandpa 2, brother’s friend, coworker’s Dad…that comes to 7. Not sure if there any more. I could have gone to more but I generally dislike the whole concept of them so I didn’t if I didn’t know the person that well.
