ive seen 50, give or take 4 or 5. my first was 8-1-98 at alpine valley. it was the start of the random cover song encore thing that lasted until jerrys b-day in va. i , of course had no idea. they did ‘been caught stealing’ that night.
i had a few phish cds i had listened to for a while, thought trey was a fabulous guitarist, so i decided to check them out live. I had NO IDEA what i was in for. been hooked ever since.
i think the most in a row was 7 or something in 99.
I took my own personal hiatus from seeing rock concerts right after seeing George Harrison in December of 1974. The music was totally outstanding although George got pissed at the audience twice for smoking dope and for not listening attentively enough to Ravi Shankar and his orchestra of incredible musicians. I kind of agreed with him, but who needs to be castigated at a concert, ya know?
The very next time I went to see a rock concert of any kind was Phish at Darien Lakes on 14 August 1997, the Ken Kesey show. By the time the Antelope had finished at the end of the first set, I knew I would need more music, and see more shows.
Had I been single and/or independently wealthy, I could have easily gone to a couple of hundred shows, such was the strength of the obsession. As it was, I only got to see 35 shows, but I don’t regret anything about the whole thing.

Yeah…whoa…you did Summer '95?! Wow
45 shows from 95-04. I live in Los Angeles so shows were scarce…but I hit Alpine and Deer Creek as well as the gorge and shoreline many times, these do not include TAB shows of which there are about 20 in there including boston and philly
Anyone over 150 shows should be made an honorary member of the band and be given a certain percentage of phish stock… or atleast receive a stock of fish… whichever comes first.
Saw about 225 all in all including almost every North America summer show from Deer Creek 96 until Polaris 2000, except for the AZ, CA, WA shows in summer '97 and the west coast run to open Summer '98. But I never saw more than 30 or so in a row. There was always a west coast Run or a Europe tour that got in my way… Best run for me was from 11/21/97 Hampton through the Island Tour to start 1998. Every show is a damn fine memory from them.

That was a great time for sure. I had just finished my first year in college. A couple friends of mine had done the '94 fall tour, so it sparked the interest of touring, which I would do every summer from that point on…minus '98. My friends that I went on tour with were just finishing up high school or we would of done the whole thing. It took us 3 days to drive down to Memphis from Massachusetts. I had bought all my tickets before hand,and brought $500 dollars to spend, giving myself an allowence of about $20 dollars a day. I had 4 friends in my car and 3 others in my friends car. We stayed in hotels every night. I would check in solo to get a cheaper price and my friends would meet me at the room. Pretty cheap considering what it would cost today to do something like that.

Ive seen well over 100, but its hard to know for sure. Counted my stubs and have 89 from 91 through hampton. Saw them a bunch in Burlington in the '80’s but i could guess how many times, maybe 20 or so, its hard to remember and I sure don’t have any stubs from then. It was generally random. They’d be playing at a bar we were at or a party or something like that. Didn’t start making a point of making the shows until 89 or so when they started playing the front (what a great time that was) regularly. I was spoiled, I never really had to travel because I knew they would always be coming home (or close by)to play. Longest run was only 4 or 5 nights usually around holiday tours. Now that I’m old with kids it gets tougher to get that free pass to go but I will make fenway, great woods, hartford and spac this summer woo hoo! less than 2 weeks!.
i think i’ve seen 22, if you count coventry as 2 and big cypress as 2
most of my dates were in the south. i guess the longest run would be 4 shows.
