make sure, after you set up your static ip, that you exit out of all of that, and go back to your router page on portforward.com .
there are a few more steps you must take in order to complete it.

tried it again to no avail. i use utorrent and have a WRT54G Linksys router. this time i got all the way secuirty web page and finished the whole thing but utorrent still says my port is blocked. i also restarted utorrent to see if it would recognize anything but it didnt.
OH WAIT! i got the green light…hmmmmmm. is it working…no it went baaack to yellow…
ok somethin fishy is goin on. will it take a while to recognize that my port is open? on my utorrent screen there is still a yellow sign but when i test my port it gives the green…

i bought a new wireless router and had to set up a new connection for my PC and girlfriend’s mac yesterday.
configuring my new IP, forwarding ports for utorrent and DC and hopping back on the show i was seeding took less that 5 minutes.

even though it’s been asked about a million times before, what are everyone’s opinions as far as the best BT client goes? I had ABC, did one show with Dial-Up, and gave up. Now I’m realizing ABC sucks. Any suggestions? I’ll be rolling with plain ol’ BitTorrent for a while.
also, is there anything special I have to do to seed it? do I just leave the file in the folder it was DLed to, or what? I don’t quite get that aspect.
UTORRENT IS THE BEST CLIENT OUT THERE, THERE IS NO DISPUTE.
When you are DL a show, you are UL simultaneously, so when you finish your DL, you
continue to seed without having to do anything.
If you are on a mac, utuorrent wont run, so Azureus is the best option.

ABC is doing that too… soon as the DL starts, my upload kicks off more.

But i’m proud of myself; I DLed something twice, because I accidentally cut off the seed the first time. Re-DLed it just to seed.
…was there a way to just plain seed it after I had it?
well, if you deleted the actual torrent from ABC or any client, you can click on the torrent as if you were DL it, and just choose the folder of the show when it asks you “where to DL to”.
then it checks your files real quick and starts seeding!

ah, thanks, makes total sense, but didnt think of it last night.
see, how do i do everything that was just mentioned, but on a mac… cause right now it takes me at least 3 days to do a 500 mb d/l and that doesnt seem right
