just me or do you guys not like this song either. i actually HATE this song. heard it so many times and won’t listen to it anymore. i put it in the bouncin’, caspian, sparkle catagory. thoughts?

sparkle is a terrible song, Guyute i can handle occasionally. i got tired of it fast though
none of these songs are terrible, they just get old when one listens to phish as much as most hardcore phans do. All of them are good occasionally, just not everytime they pop up in a set.
Lately, guyute is the one I listen to teh least of the ones listed. I just have heard it enough, and the versions don’t change very much.

I think we discussed this in songs we don’t get, or it was a thread about songs that we “got” and then turned into one about songs we didn’t get… I don’t know. I remember typing that I couldn’t/haven’t gotten this song. I don’t know what it is about it, I just can’t get into it at all. It’s a great Trey masterpiece and I appreciate what it is musically/talent wise, but just can’t dig it.

I love Guyute. It is potentially the most evil Phish song. I will have a sentimental attachment to it, becasue I see it as the last prog epic Phish wrote. The first time I ever saw it was 12/29/94, which was probably my favorite show, so there’s a special place in my heart for it for that reason, too.
I think your all by your lonesome I love all the songs you listed to. If you cant stand the heat guyute brings than get out of the kitchen.
i can appreciate the song in terms of song writing, but got tired of this song a long time ago. and as for the others, i’ll listen to an occasional bouncin’ or skip to the guitar solo work of caspian. i can also take sparkle in the fluid context of an older school show. it’s just that i’ve heard so many versions of these songs that i generally move towards the more powerful music of something else that particular day.
Exactly, though I like Caspian pretty well and I like Bouncing. I always skip Sparkle and Guyute. Guyute is seriously a terrible song.
