Found myself in a similar position last week. Hot date, only met her once before, decided on a nice picnic, hit the park, lay on the wine and watch the hot air balloons as they sailed over. Rained off.

In the end I took her to a nice restaurant and we drank and talked. (I haven’t seen her since but that’s another story…)

Anyway, point being; it doesn’t really matter where you go (though I’d steer away from McDonalds), it’s you she wants to be with, so just relax and enjoy it. I also found keeping it low key for the first date quite effective, it doesn’t build in too many expectations and gives you a good place to go for a follow-up.

Well it went well last night. We went up into the sunsphere after walking around beautiful downtown Knoxville. The sunsphere is really neat. That was a nice experience. Then I took her up to the cliffs overlooking the TN River and the rest of Knoxville. Hours of very stimulating conversation and getting to know each other. Drank a little whiskey. Then we went out to my buddy’s house and I started a fire. Drank more whiskey. It was fun. 'Twas a good night to say the least.
