I got Mac and have a question

I just got my new MacBook Pro :sunglasses: today and am loving it, except… it came with no games at all. Not even the shitty games that come with Windows (solitaire, free cell, hearts, etc.).

Finding software for Windows is easy (most software is made for windows so a simple google can give a lot of results), finding it for Linux is also easy (every distro has its own repository). But, what is the best way to find it for Macs?

I want:

Games

Free

Fun

Many

Thanks for your help!

On top of Bernie not understanding what you said…I, too, literally didn’t understand a single word of that.

DUDES!!! he wants to pwn n00bs!!! what dont you understand???

wtf is wrong with you guys? It’s simple: I have a new mac. I’m not used to using macs. I want help finding free games.

you are such a lazy hippie…if i had a mac, id help

Hey, doesn’t the new mac come with Windows? I thought it did.

looks like you can get Minesweeper for free at the Apple page itself…

http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/games/minesweeper.html

i don’t know of any single source to find everything you need because i’ve never bothered to load my mac up with them, but the key is to include “osx” in your google searches.

so if you’re looking for solitaire, search “solitaire osx” to get the best results.

good luck out there…

edit: there’s probably lots more free games on the apple page too, but you need to focus on the ones labeled “freeware”, or otherwise they’ll just be limited or demo versions. there’s also a bunch of games to download from there under the “Widgets” category.

just go to mininova.org and search for games or whatever software you need.

More specifically, click on this link and get downloading.

Mac’s aren’t for gaming though. They are for making albums of drunken Pirate songs on GarageBand.

I know that macs aren’t for hardcore gaming, but there are some games.

And I would prefer to avoid priating software.

step one: throw away mac.

step two: purchase pc

step three: put thumb up butt

you can just skip right to step three if you wish.

i have a macbook…www.versiontracker.com is killer for apps.

Thank you BigD and Tanas

::clears throat::

um…youre welcome?!

It comes with Chess!

That’s all you need brah!

Oh, and check the apple site for widgets, there might be some cool game one there. I’ve never searched for gaming widgets before, but I’m sure they’re there.

OH, and first widget to get: iStat Pro.
