I need opinions!

Hello everyone, we’ve just made a rough edit of a live promo video for Sixela. It is to get us better gigs and appear a bit more real. Please check it out and give me advice, opinions, thoughts, praise and head.

Here is the said video:

Many thanks, love you all.

I haven’t listened yet.

…BUT I JUST FIGURED OUT HOW YOU GOT THE BAND NAME! Wow, that took me forever.

My opinion: you are ghey.

When these Brits are rockin’, Don’t come a knockin’!!!

Well done ya limey bastid!!!

great audio track and some great footage, but as with everything there’s room for improvement. i think the main thing you want to avoid mixing long shots of singing or fret work with the music. it leaves the viewer unsettled when it doesn’t match up. if you’re going to go with the montage (which i think is the way to go) i’d try to mix in more face shots, crowd shots and off angles.

take a look at 00:12-00:16. there’s a shot of you with your hand in the air and a big grin on your face and then a cool angle of the guitar necks. those few seconds really work. they give a real personal feel and you don’t have to worry about the music mismatch. (02:13-02:30 is similar in that respect).

i think if you had some crowd shots, and maybe some shots of you guys goofing around in a practice room, it would give it a smoother feel and add a lot more personality to it.

otherwise its great. very cool song. some really nice footage. well done.

Thanks for the kind words folks…

Selassie, that was exactly the kind of response I was looking for. Thanks for the pointers, I will get tweaking right away. As for crowd shots, unfortunately as those were some early gigs we didn’t have many people watching (nothing worth putting in a montage) so we avoided them.

I think you are right about adding some more personal shots, we’ve got some good footage of us setting up and walking around etc maybe we should throw some of those in?

Thanks again

I definitely think there should be more shots of the guitar player with long hair. He owns.
