I Saw That Bustout!

The one thing that trancended a good set list or performance for me has always been teh bustout. This thread is dedicated to your favorite bustouts at shows you attended.

Here are a Few of my favorite’s

6-23-94 NICU first since 5-1-92 ( we heard them soundcheck it a few times so we knew it was a possibility).

11-18-94 Swing Low first since 10-20-89 what a treat

11-14-95 and 10-30-98 for Manteca. Come on you know that was bad ass!

8-17-96 Brother with ben and jerry. First since 8-2-93. My buddy kenny called this bustout on the way from Indiana and i was amazed at his foresight.

7-20-98 Sea and Sand first since 12-31-95 WOW

8-3-98 Ride Captain Ride. first since 12-30-92 When they started playing old covers like She caught the Katy i started making predictions on what others would surface. This song and the next one i list were at the top of my list.

8-11-98 Time Loves a Hero first since 11-5-88. Such a great tune and it was my Highlight from the return show along with Mound

7-24-99 Alumni Blues first since 5-25-88. Could you ask for a bigger bustout?

I’ll list some more when this thread get’s rollin!

7/11/00:
First “Chalkdust Torture Reprise” since 12/10/94

7/11/00:
First “Moby Dick” since 11/29/97

7-29-03:

the one I cherish the most is the Burgettstown “Harpua”…

Sorry. Sheesh! i said i would list more later when the thread get’s rollin. i’m sur most of the 98 and above bustouts i share with people on the board and i just wanted everyone to list some that have not already been listed!

i was only joking around BigB…

alpine 99’- alumni
deer creek 2000- moby dick
deer creek '03(?) the (with) as in the curtain (with)

^That with was the night after Moby Penis!

One I’m particularly proud of:

12/1/03 - Long Cool Woman In a Black Dress - Albany, the Knick*- First song Phish played and first time play in God knows how long, let alone with Jeff Holdsworth

*did you hear it’s not going to even be the Pepsi Arena anymore? It’s the Timesunion Arena starting 1/1/07, teh_lame

^They played LCW at the thomas and Mack center the night before Halloween 98. I was also at Albany 03 and i enjoyed it more because of Jeff for sure. The funny thing about it is the band rwally thought that
10-30-98 was their 15th anniversary. For a long time it was falsely known that the first ever Phish show was on 10-30-83. I cannot believe they did not realize till long after that it was actually 12-2-83. ??? ??? ???

12-30-97 Sneakin Sally Through the Alley and the reprise in the encore.
I had never even heard the song before and thanks to Angelo, a man i befriended that night. I was informed within 5 seconds of them playing of the title. 10 seconds after that i was in a full on Dance Party!

3.1.03…proud mary…pretty effin’ sick if you ask me…hadnt been played in over 1100 shows…it was just in the vocal jam of yem but sick nonetheless.

that sneakin sally on 12.30.97 was bad ass as well…the alumni mentioned above…

the psycho killer AND the boogie on in dayton 97…

the crossroads at alpine 97

caravan at philly holiday run 96.

whipping post alpine 96

i know there are more…maybe not.

^Man why did i skip dayton to go to Cleveland that year? Still kickin myself in the ass. Luckily my ass is not as big as the one in your new avatar. I find it mildly offensive, yet intriguing!

Two of my personal favorite post-Hiatus-1 shows.
That Lifeboy was so nice to hear.

I don’t know if I have anything new to offer other than what is up there. I have to say that 12 7 and 12/30 were two of my favorite shows ever attended. Just a funny side note about the Brother from the Island tour, my friend said to me as we were driving down from Long Island that they were gonna play brother after he was reading from his Almanac. It was funny b/c he was so serious, anywayyyy I’ll try to remember some more

And the Alpine whipping post was pretty fun too, the 99 alpine show I got arrested and had to pay $495 civil infraction. Most expensive show I ever saw, but glad to hear alumni

What?? That doesn’t make sense. Did you cover your ears during that song or something??
