I'm confused...whose parents?

This is of course when referring to said parents in a conversation with others who are outside of your immediate family.

Your confusion is confusing me. I don’t understand the question.

Although a buddy from college would never use the “my,” and I thought it was kind of strange.

I think it’s YOUR mom

I say Mum and Dad.

I say “Yea, Welcome to the Cosmic Oneness featuring Mother Moon and Father Sun, my children.”

That’s about the time someone usually throws my ass in the dirt and stomps me. So don’t take my advice.

I really don’t see how “mom or dad” can get any votes.

I mean, if you don’t say “my,” you’re acting like you’re the brother or sister of whoever you’re talking to.

And that ain’t right.

Unless you live in the deep south.

^Yeah, the only time you should leave the “my” out is if you’re talking to your brother or sister.

But I call them my mother and my father. Not mom and dad.

with close friends, I just say mom. I have two friends that are basically siblings in my opinion, so occasionally I just use mom or dad around them. otherwise, I use my. If you don’t, it sounds like you’re clinging to your parents. Like, mad style.
