There have been so many Phish shows and so many great ones. How do you guys keep track of the dates for each. Do you have some super secret method? How can one go “Oh the Stash from 10/25/1” randomly? I find it easier to refer to the Live Phish release # or the location or something. How do you do it?
This. And I’m on this board once or twice a day, soaking up oh-so-valuable snippets of information, such as this
The Pa is great. But seriously, for some choice selections and to fill your Phish collection with good stuff, visit the Individual Song Discussion section of the board. When I am wondering, “Hmmm, what would be a good Reba to listen to?”, that is the first place I go. Some Pa dwellers know many, many things about the Phish.
Just keep listening to and downloading shows, it’ll come t you. i used to be all about just venue/year. Now i do full dates. i just kinda picked it up.
For me it started as my college roommate was a deadhead. I enjoy listening to the dead so we kinda started a minor competition where he’d play one of his 800+ tapes and a few of us would guess the year and the show based on what we heard.
With Phish it’s similar. You can tell a Pshish show a few factors. Show openers styles nuances etc. Of course certain songs were only played after so and so time eand certain songs were only jammed out after such and such a time.
Of course I would be lying if I didn’t peak at the Helping phriendly book but even then it doesn’t have all the mini teases listed.
For example 7/30/97 Yes’s Heart of the Sunrise pre-show tease.
Or an Eyes of the World Tease in the beginning of the encore.
Of course these are just a few bars nothing dramatic but still they are there.
