Clean spoon all day. With a joint or one hitter you get alot of heat with your smoke, giving it a more resin-ish taste. With a spoon it has just enough time to cool down so that you can get the most of the taste. With a bong it takes a little too long to get to you, so alot of it tastes the same. I guess what i’m trying to say is that joints/1hitters/bongs don’t taste bad, but you won’t get much variation in taste when switching strains.

I tend to agree with Bill that a small piece of fresh herb out of a clean glass bowl will probably afford the best flavor. Breaking up that nugget a bit so the heat can properly pass over it will help with potency. And if you want it really clean and tasty, use a magnifying glass and the sun to light the nug instead of butane.
well with a bowl yer constantly breathing in butane. so maybe thats the flavor your after. unless youre using a hemp wick…but still that affects taste.
i smoke ungodly amounts of herb and i will promise you that once you see the light of the joint you will not go back. ive been smoking for over 15 years. i have smoked out of every piece you could imagine…home made bowls up to pieces that cost several thousand dollars. there is noooo waaaay you can touch the flavor of a joint. with anything. spoons, onie, sherlock, bong, double perced bong…nothing comes close to the flavor preservation of a joint.
with that said the quality of rolling paper is essential. dont expect your weed to taste good if youre smoking out of zig zags.
on top of paper quality the way you draw on a joint is going to affect the flavor as well…if yer chiefing on that thing like crazy its gonna taste like shit. air has to be allowed in the mouth along with the smoke. how tight or loose, rather how well its rolled, will affect taste as well.
sure its all debateable but in the end you’ll be wrong. lol. joints are where its at.

I enjoy the first couple hits of a joint. I don’t care for the resin flavor that builds as it burns down.
And I like real skinny joints. Ones that look like q tips.
i prefer a doob about the size of a cigarette…and i will pseudo agree about the flavor at the end…i usually snub my joints with about a 3rd left.
but…if its super dank…well grown and cured…that roach will taste almost as good as the first few hits.
Have you guys never seen a torch/wand? If you get a butane torch and heat a glass wand you can light your bowl with it. I will personally say that that is the cleanest/tastiest way to smoke.
It really is funny how many different details can be thrown into this debate. I’m enjoying it myself.

I like to use my wand from time to time, though I use it for hash more than for flowers. I usually have a nice wad of bee-line laying around, too. Every different heat source tends to change the flavor a little. I find there’s even a slight difference between the wand and a solar hit. And, I find a huge difference between the flavor of combusted nuggets vs. the flavor of vaped nuggets.
The type of combustion and amount of heat will also have slight changes on the effects of the herb. It has to do with the way the THC converts at certain temps.
Gonna have to try a magnifying glass. Never taken the time to try it.
Oh yeah. Vaped bud tastes soooo good and gets you SOOOO high. I always like to put bud in the vape to test its taste, personally. It won’t taste the same, but it tastes GOOD, and it destroys me. Seriously, when i vape, I put about a tenth of a gram in there at most, just enough for like three solid hits, and boy man god shit it just blasts me off. Whoever invented the vaporizer is a wonderful person.
See, I don’t smoke very much compared to you guys - just a small vape bowl at the end of the day is pretty much it for me - and I think you get the most bang for your buck with a vape.
since we.re all on about ways to light/combust/USE herb…
have ya.ll heard of the herb iron? basically a modified soldering iron…has a ceramic tip that heats up and shit…light the herb that way. similar to what highway bill was talking about with the wand and torch and whatnot.
being about 70 dollars i opted for the cheaper route…a 25watt hakko dash…all you do is take the metal casing off the tip and voila…herb iron. minus the fancy on off button.
of course either of these options is only good for home use…as it requires a plug, etc.

^^Yeah, all those other “irons” are just re-branded hakkos. Some of them have timers or auto-offs, which is probably good for what they’re being used for in this case…
They produce a nice flavor, but between the plug and the danger factor, I’ve never really considered purchasing one.

Been pretty focused on school lately but now it’s Spring Break and I get time from work too. Blue Dream and a starbucks Tribute blend.

My friend and I built an air tight complex of a table covered in blankets. We’ve been smoking it out and playing music. It’s nickname is the Cavern. It’s later than you think!!
