Oh.
I see.
Huh.
Well then.
Don’t that beat all.
Can’t stir 'em with a stick.

Thank you all for these awesome suggestions. just downloaded atlanta 1993 ( the 2nd night with the incredible 2nd set)
and yes i do feel like the ultimate n00b posting this thread. but could someone please tell me what all the > # * mean?
Nice going Thomothy!
Here’s the complete setlist - footnotes included.
You might actually find some people (myself not included) that claim the segue between “Disease” and “Mike’s” is the greatest ever.
7-22-97 Walnut Creek Ampitheatre, Raleigh, NC
1: Runaway Jim-> My Soul, Water in the Sky, Stash, Bouncing Around the Room, Vultures, Bye Bye Foot, Taste*
2: Down With Disease**-> Mike’s Song-> Simple-> I Am Hydrogen#-> Weekapaug Groove##-> Hello My Baby
E: When the Circus Comes, Harry Hood
*Band jams with a lightning storm, which eventually forces the set to end early.
**With “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” (Temptations) quote.
#Mike’s bass is out of tune at the end.
##With “I Am Hydrogen” and “Mother” (Pink Floyd) teases.
ya i’m going with that one next, as it seems like an insanely amazing concert.
good luck man.
good luck.
Where did you find both Cypress nights? I only have night 2
to get both cypress, you must complete a task that includes
anal lube
duct tape
some pvc pipe (4 in. diameter recommended)
a pack of guitar strings
and last but most important…
Neck
you shalln’t be disappointed.
Be sure to grab all of the Halloween shows. ESPECIALLY White Album ('94) and Remain In Light ('96). Also, no collection is complete without the epic Live Phish 11.
I’m also quite a fan of 1991.7.21, Arrowhead Ranch. It’s the best example of a Horn Show out there (aside from 10.31.96), and is actually much better than the Live Phish one (19, I think). It’s performed a LOT better, the sound quality is superior, Mike’s bass doesn’t sound awful, and Page’s keys aren’t as fake-sounding (think Colorado '88). No cuts to audience source, no mysterious clicking and noise, better setlist… premium early Phish.
I also reccomend Colorado '88; I know it isn’t technically a show, but if you can get used to Page’s cheesy synth-piano it’s an amazing document of a smaller, more intimate, chilled out Phish. Be sure you get the bonus-tracks-having version, since those are amazing.
Oh, and try to check out the 1984 Nectar’s gig, if you can find it. The sound is a bit muddy, but it’s a polar opposite of late Phish. No keyboards, a bunch of silly covers, the Dude Of Life singing a faster version of Fluffhead with different lyrics, a ten-minute drum solo, and a Slave that will catch you totally off-guard (no keys!)
^or if you don’t want to spend nearly that much money, just download shows for free from bt.etree.org
http://tela.sugarmegs.org/ has about 75% of the shows phish has played available to stream all the time
i used to just pick a tour and start at the beg and work my way through the tour, at work i used to be able to listen to two shows, sometimes three a day, granted it wasn’t attention listening, i wasn’t picking things apart in the songs, but still listening for the gems
if youre looking for a great great solid show i personally really like 6/11/94. an awesome tour of an awesome year at an awesome venue with awesome versions of yem, spilt open and melt, tela, antelope…the list goes on
I knew you would mention that show. You and your stupid Red Rocks '94 YEM… ;D
I’d say 11-22-97 - http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=508334
If there are no seeders just ask and I’ll hop on for ya!
^i knew youd mention that. you and your fall 97. just not funky enough for me

Every Worcester show!
I actually have the White Album holloween show, and the 84 nectors gig, and love both, i still need to get 7/22/97, it sounds so amazing…
as to the rest of you, thank u 4 all the feedback, i always feel like a huge douche with these n00b posts, but u guys r so helpful, i can honestly say, phisheads are the nicest folk out there.
see i was doin fine til the pvc hit my sphincter, i think we all know what came next…
i am now getting into august 93 with the 8/21 show with bela fleck, kick ass stuff

*Trey stops to dedicate the “tires on the road” part of the song to Shelly Culbertson for trekking from California to Boston to work for them full-time.
if you stream it off tela.sugarmegs.org they have the soundcheck which includes a beverly hill’s cop jam, where i believe Trey yells Ghostbusters, and Page corrects him saying no, beverly hills cop, they work that jam into the show, along with a Andy Grifith theme song whistling during the antelope
oh and the crazy pez song too
