*IN DESPARATE NEED*

So… I was at work the other day, at my brnad new job, and I was listening to American Beuaty on my I Pod… when my boss walks in. He says “You like The Dead?” and I said " Absolutely… they’re one of my favorite bands of all time", to which he replys
“the first time I saw them was back in '73 at William & Mary Hall… I requested Morning Dew”

I was floored. This guy looks like he could win the grand prize in a yuppie of the year contest… but we sat there and shot the shit about the Dead for at least 30 minutes.

My question is… does anyone have the '73 W&M Hall show? You have no idea how many brownie points i would score if i got him a copy of that… and in return I’ll try to get you a good show of your choice.

All help is appreciated.

thnx.

I don’t have it, but I did some searching around and found it on etree.

Currently, there aren’t any seeds, but maybe if you email the seeder, he may jump back on it?

Or maybe someone has it and you won’t have to go through all that trouble.

Also, here’s 889 people with that show: http://db.etree.org/lookup_show.php?shows_key=867&show_users=true

and 335 people with the following day: http://db.etree.org/lookup_show.php?shows_key=868&show_users=true

Maybe if no one here has it, you can hit someone up on db.etree. I’m sure someone would be more than willing to help you out.

did you check archive.org?

http://www.archive.org/details/gd73-09-11.sbd.lanum.184.sbeok.shnf

there is the link to it, but you probably wont know or be able to download it from archive.

I know on my Mac, I just right click on the song in the flash player and it opens up in quicktime, then i just right click and select download. Your Mileage May Vary.

Archive.org has it, but not for download. It’s a streaming source, so I can play it on my computer, or even through I tunes, but not burn it onto disc.

E.Tree is too damn slow for some reason…

SOMEBODY HELP THIS WOMAN!!!

on http://tela.sugarmegs.org/boxofrain/ between the hours of 5 pm to 9 am you can right click on the file (gd1973-09-11.wma) and Save link as, once you have the file on your computer you can burn it

now tela’s files are like 40kbps which is a very low bitrate, the entire show is only 53.1mb, which would fit onto one disc as a wma file, but you have to transfer that to a wav file, not sure what the size will be, but it should fit on two or three discs. it is at least the show, i have a few i burned from doing this that sound pretty good

would think just about any burn program could handle the wma to wav transfer

am listening to the show now, and the vocals are very low, but the rest is audible, and sounds pretty good, if you can find it off of etree, or btree go with that, try tradersden as well, somebody may have it over there, or possibly further

Doesn’t it download as one file and doesn’t have song breaks?

I’ve never tried it becuase I always thought it was going to be one big file…maybe I’ll give it a try.

Oooh…I’ve got this show…check my list…but I’m overseas…

^^yes it one long file, but you can split up the file into tracks if you so desire. yes it’s time consuming and all but hey it’s free music

BT is where it’s at for free music mate. Or PT’s request thread…
