In the "What's the matter with people" department

That’s what they get for shopping at ShopRite.

^Hey, don’t knock my employer.

oh my god.

damn

i’m sorry, even if your reasoning is no one else will have that name…

go fuck yourself, those two names are fucking horrible for those children. If you’re older and want to change your name to Adolph Hitler, go ahead, no one should be born with the name “Aryan Nation” though, thats fucked.

I work with someone who named their kid “Beowulf.” Not as bad as Adolf, but still falls under the ‘what’s wrong with people’ category…

I know some old burnouts who named their kid Litmus…

i named my kid Gandalf. not really cause i have no kids, but i would.

YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!

that shit’s bad-ass.

I think what it boils down to is that ShopRite (for some reason on the news I thought it was Wal-Mart?) discriminated against these particular people solely because of their names. Which is wrong.

The company didn’t do it. The local store or bakery department manager did.

Shoprite is a cooperative. Each store, or group of stores is owned by different people who also have to buy shares into the cooperative from which they must buy a defined inventory and maintain certain identifiable standards and images that allow the customer to know they are in a Shoprite store.

For that, the owners make money on both levels, retail and wholesale, and their shares of the cooperative can increase in value over time.

^^ Neil, Wal-MArt went along with it and printed the cake!

Fucking crazy parents.

JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell, that is soooooooooo fucked up.

I either don’t get what is going on, or read 2 different accounts of what actually happened.

I need to get my facts straight.

Just the facts, ma’am.

All right, let’s see if we can untangle this, even though I think you understand it and I kind of agree with you.

Yes, the Shoprite bakery person or manager refused to write Happy Birthday Adolf Hitler on a cake. What I could see happening was that the manager thought it was a joke and refused to go along with it, or she took exception to the request and refused to write the name. It is not a recognized curse word or something pornographic in nature which the manager could have refused to do, so there is policy for certain words.

I kind of agree with you that because the parents were stupid enough to name their child Adolf Hitler Campbell, why should the child be penalized, AND in the context of the name as it related to this particular Adolf Hitler, the store should have agreed to do it.

But this is going to be a sticking point for all of their kids for all of their lives that these idiot parents wanted to do to everyone with whom their children will interact with. They are forcing the acceptance of these words, names, etc, by equating them with human beings who have no connection to the more notorious meanings to the words.

It’s really an f’d up thing to do. The fact that Shoprite refused and Walmart didn’t isn’t the issue. The confrontation and confusion over their children’s names is.

Shouldn’t they have just requested the cake to read “Happy Birthday Adolf”?

If they honestly asked to put the middle name on as well… well… they are just being difficult, IMO.

I never had a cake that said “Happy Birthday William John”.

I was just about to say the exact same thing. No one gets their middle name on a cake. They’re just trying to let the whole world know that they gave their kid ridiculous names.

^^ To be fair though, the last cake I make for you I did write Happy Birthday Hitler on it.

Here’s an update:

I don’t know what’s worse, that she has Aryan Nation in her name or that her first name is JoyceLynn?..What a retarded first name. For God’s sake people, stop misspelling your kid’s names to make them unique!!

This drives me nuts…I had a neighbor who just made up a name for her third son…I forget what it was but it was retarded. Your kid’s name is NOT a plaything.

Stevo

That’s funny because my middle name is Alien Nation.
