With all this “not drinking” it seems like I cannot get to sleep. Also I couldn’t find the old Insomnia thread. So, yeah.
It doesn’t help that I slept in until noon today. That always fucks up my sleep schedule when I get greedy with it.

I’m a big sufferer - have been all my life. So far, I’ve found no real cure either. Reefer can help and so can masturbation, but what with the contest and everything… Some hard exercise earlier in the day can also have good benefits but there’s no guarantees.

I hate sleep aids. They freak me out. I cannot stand taking NyQuil for that very reason. I hate that artificially drugged sleep feeling. My body naturally fights it and jerks awake. It’s the same reason I never pass out from drinking too much. I hate that weird “stay awake and alive” instinct.
get more exercise during the day
okay i hear you. i had (and have from time to time) a pretty solid case of insomnia. when i was about 28 i was awake for about a week before i went to the doctor. he reprimanded me for not coming to him sooner. he prescribed for me Ambien. no druggy nothing, just pure, solid sleep for eight hours. if need be, don’t worry. just have your doc prescribe a week’s worth for you, it’ll set you back on track no problemo.
I don’t have insomnia, per say, I just find it hard to get to sleep because I can’t shut my mind off.

there’s nothing more frustrating than not being able to sleep, for me. i’ve had to resist the urge with all my might to slam my head against the wall until i passed out. i fucking hate not sleeping. i’ve been a shitty sleeper for the past three years of my life…it comes and goes with my anxiety levels, though. i just can’t get my mind to stop racing. god, i hate not sleeping.

I don’t get enough sleep, but it’s because I don’t want to. I hate feeling like I’m missing something. Plus, sleep is for pussies.
I probably get, on average, about 6-7 hours of good sleep per night. Although last night, after a full day of activities and whatnot, I got about 9 hours.
I once drove straight through (with 3 other friends) from Indiana to San Diego in about 36 hours without sleeping a wink. Not because I had insomnia, but because of the sheer fear of death from either driving off the road or not keeping an eye on the driver/directions.

Anybody know any natural remedies for insomnia? (not including alcohol)
I’ve tried Tylenol PM and that didn’t work. I’ve tried drinking a tall glass of warm milk and that didn’t help.

Funnily enough, the only time I have trouble sleeping is when I give up alcohol completely.
