Substances. Insomnia is most often chemically induced. Your body is overproducing something that’s stimulating it, so all you have to do is counteract those chems with some of your own. I find wine does the trick for me, but if you’re really pumping, the typical medical solution is not depressants, but the opposite. They treat hyperactive kids with stimulants to “burn them out” so to speak.
How’s your eating habits? Have they changed at all over this period? If you don’t want to go the chemical route, try some basic yoga relaxation techniques. If your mind has to race, let it. Just don’t react to it because the reaction pumps out more stimulants into your body, and the cycle repeats itself.
