I just saw this movie over the weekend and I can’t stop thinking about. The soundtrack rules too! It reminded me about my crazy solo travelling days of Canada and Europe.
As much I would love to do that forever, I guess we always have to go back to real life and contribute to society. But I believe you can affect everyone you meet for just a special moment.
It also reminded me of the movie, “The Beach”. As amazing as your own utopia is. Its just that, you’re own. And as solid as it looks in theory, it never works in practice.
Lots of people want out of this society, but those are the people we need to make a difference. If you quit you are just as bad as everyone fucking up. Be the change you wish to see in this world.

that guy in the movie was in this really strange quasi-gay flick where he bit the head off of a chicken. no wonder he went into the wild.

Goin’ out to the woods today!

Backpacking trip planned with some old friends on our favorite trail in northern TN. Up in the Cumberlands. “gotta get down to the Cumberland miiiiiiiiiiiines”

I gotta get a sleeping pad, nalgene bottle, and a tarp to stay dry. I’ve misplaced all my shit!!

some of those nalgene bottles and ones like it contain some sort of estrogen like hormone in the plastic…it ends up leaching into the water or whatever you have in there. filling it with a hot liquid makes it leach out at up to 500x more than with cold liquid. even some baby bottles are made with this plastic. they started making bottles with a different kind of plastic though that does not contain this hormone. make sure to buy the right one unless you dont mind having “moobs” and people calling you bitch-tits.

hahaha, i didn’t know that. I heard there was something in the plastic that caused cancer. That explains why I have man boobs. I’ve been drinking from the same nalgene for 5 years, and it had been used for 2 or 3 before that…

Good thing I lost it finally.

shit is all this stuff about nalgenes true? I love my nalgene and have had it since college. and last week I found out that some things in Lonely Planet books were made up! my world is crashing down!

What Neck says is true…Nalgenes can disrupt your DNA, but reusing a water bottle over and over can be even worse. The thing to do: buy a metal mug. Shits’ll last epons.

^ it’s the ‘bisphenol A’ that they use in them, and most hard/clear plastics.

Research on laboratory animals shows that bisphenol A is an estrogenic hormone disrupter that causes reproductive damage and may lead to prostate and breast cancer in adulthood.
