i love robert randolph, perpetual groove is there too which i also love, i enjoy tea leaf green…ive heard ymsb, keller and bela, but not enough. i might be tempted to go. if it wasnt so close to my birthday, and if it wasnt in kansas, id prolly be there. but who knows what i’ll do?? the summer is far away…

Most definitely. I got my one buddy who is the only one who came with me last year after all the other rooks backed out. And Icc better be hopping a plane ride over! We shall meet Teh Vern once we enter OZ… I mean Kansas.
I’ll be there for sure. It’s only 3 hours away from my house!!!
I’ll probably get the highest camping upgrade possible so I can cook out, have a lot of room, etc. I think all attending from this forum should discuss our plans…we should plan to meet on Thursday at a specified camping location.

I’ve “heard” Panic will be there this year, it’s just not confirmed.
I know your love for Panic, and I like Panic somewhat… But I am kind of hoping they don’t show up. It will blow this festival up, even though the cap is limited to 15,000.
People on the Waka board were talking about Panic, Trey, or Phil… I think Phil would be the most likely to still keep it low-key… kind of.
But whatever happens, I can’t wait!
Phil would be my first choice, too! I’ve just HEARD a lot of Panic playing only festivals and one small tour this year after their three big tours last year.
I would MUCH prefer PHIL and Friends!

Hmmm…That’s a nice lineup…I kind of wish there was some UM, but this looks good…If Phil’s playing I will change my vote to a definately going, but right now, it’s looking more like a probably. How much are tix? Also, if phish decides to announce any shows this year, I’ve got to change my vote to a NO, but that is looking less and less likely…Hopefully I’ll see you all there. I was supposed to volunteer at Waka last year, but school got in the way, has Nobel accepted volunteers yet…he said I would be on the list for this year…that could help lessen the burden.
UM played two nights there last year. The first day of the festival they played a full 2 set show since STS9 backed out in the last minute. It was one of the best times I have seen UM. Atmasforag>Bright Lights opener blew my head open. I would say there is a pretty strong chance they will make a return appearance. They were one of the bigger crowds I noticed.
And tickets are currently $89. These are limited though. Thats about $22 a day! How can you beat that??
On the main Wakarusa board there has been some talk of Disco Biscuits possibly playing this year…WHICK WOULD BE FVCKING AWESOME.
They haven’t played there before and would totally fit the bill. I’m sure SOMEONE else of headlining preportion will be announced. But the initial line up was good enough for me to purchase tix.
Goderators…we need to pin a thread for a spot/details, etc… on this board for an OKP meet up in the coming months.
I am going to be there. I have officially changed my mind on the bonnaroo and am definatly going to Wakarusa.
Yes! Bonnaroo’s time has definitely passed I feel. What was small and awesome has turned into “a place to get good drugs, and oh yeah, there are some bands”. That is how I feel atleast.
For the first timers at Waka… You will FEEL the vibe, it is everywhere.
the roo is cutting down its size by 10,000 this summer. but alas, i will be able to go neither for i shall be traveling europe for 3 and 1/2 weeks. though thats nothing to be upset about
I bought my ticket for 05 about this time last year, I felt that same way!
The Waka Board saved me though… I met a LOT of cool people on there. Learned about “Free Music Friday”, and ended up meeting some people from the board at the fest.
I have checked the board recently… And I just can not get into posting there yet…
