so i am curious to see what you guys think. aside from phish, who would you say is the best jam band out there today? i personally think phil and friends is near or at the to of the list.

but this list might even be a tad outdated. I honestly haven’t been to many shows or fests in the past couple years. So i might be a bit out of the loop but these groups always hold it down for me.
Spin Doctors
Phil & Friends by far. I mean there are tons of great ones, but Phil is the great one out there right now.
For my tastes, I listen to a fair bit of STS9, Railroad Earth, Disco Biscuits, Umphrey’s and moe., but I listen to like 5x more Phil than I listen to all of those bands combined. If String Cheese was still around I’d put them ahead of any of those other bands I mentioned, but still miles behind Phil.

^ Well, if you’re saying that MMJ is a jam band, then the best jam band touring these days is Ween.

Ween is alright I think, although I think they would be mad if you called them a jamband.
I just know there are alot of great bands playing right now and for people to keep saying that Phil, or Bobby, or the Allman’s are “the best around” is a joke.
There has been music made since the 1970’s.
^ There was music made before the year 2000 too, and just because a musician turns 30 doesn’t mean that their music becomes obsolete. Phil is on fire. Ask any of those peeps who went and saw him in the past year. His band is amazing.
