I doubt I can afford it this year, but Jazzfest 2004 was one of the best times I’ve ever had! mmmmmmmmm, Mike and the Duo latenight was SWEET!

Rod Stewart?

Sorry if anyone enjoys him… But… Rod Stewart???

Buckwheat Zydeco would be AWESOME though.

Rod Stewart, Jerry Lee Lewis, New Edition, Counting Crows, Better Than Ezra, ZZ Top, Johnny Rivers = They still exist?

Van Morrison, Dr. John, Allman Brothers, Soulive, Galactic = word.

Panic is on tour and missing it this year.

They were a mainstay for so many years. First saw them there in 97…

Jerry Lee Lewis?! wow, that will be interesting. I wonder if his 2nd cousin will be around…

I’ve seen Jerry a few times…1999 and in 2000. He played in Fort Worth a lot.

The man still has it. He’s toned down the antics but he’s still a wicked player and performer.

I saw Buckwheat Zydeco last year at the JazzFest in my town (Sioux Falls, SD). Wow, never thought the accordion could be used for much else than polka, much less actually be cool.

^You should check out Donna The Buffalo. They don’t use the accordion for every tune, but the ones they do are pretty groovy if you ask me.

Jazzfest is an event that I have to catch in my lifetime… I’ll probably do it when I’ve got more money and a real job…whatever that is.

^It’s an expensive one for sure!! Festival tickets aren’t bad, but once you factor in drinks/party favors, hotel, gas or airfare depending on where you live, and all the extra shows ( I think we saw 6 or so), you’re looking at a good chunk of change. But YES you must do it once. Like I said, it was one of the most fun times I’ve ever had

I had the privilege of being at ‘02, 03’ and '04. I was thinking about going back this year. This lieup looks pretty weak. But its more about the late night shows anyway.

I was contemplating it myself. And yes, it is TOTALLY about the latenight!

Wow!

In middle school I had an English teacher that let us listen to Buckwheat and then write about him.

It was awesome.

i’ll be there. just got my umphrey’s latenight tix and will be going that second weekend of jazzfest. anyone else gonna make it??? i’m thinking greyboy allstars and dumpstaphunk for the other two latenights. the filthy funk!!!
