I basically want to make love to this song.
:-*
i saw the first one. i think the fluffhead played shortly after was an apology from the band. so ill take it!!
I’ve yet to hear this one.
I saw one show in 99 and I got a Jennifer Dances… how special. I screamed “What the fuck is this pansy music!”
Actually I don’t remember the song but there were a few songs that show where I wasn’t too thrilled but the Gin and Free made me smile… it was one of the Dec. Portland Me shows if you care to know.
finally heard this song today (12-5-99).
meh. a tad on teh_ghey side if you ask me. but not the most annoying/lousiest Phish song IMO.
Ahhh I think its piss break time, anyone want a soda or a hot dog?
that designation can be reserved for Teh_Connection
Or Teh_Lifeboy
:’( you didn’t get a refund, did you?
i love this song…
lifeboy is amazing…you are rediculous
What a shitty song. I’m glad they gave up playing it.
Lifeboy is a great song. I would not group it with Jennifer Dances
Is this song even worth hearing? It just sounds too bad to be true…
I want to hear it. can someone sendspace?
I don’t have a copy of it, sorry. There’s some video of them recording it during the Farmhouse sessions tucked away on the official website. At one point Mike has duct tape over his mouth, I assume so he doesn’t have to sing this song.
seems like this was a half assed attempt at a billy breathes type song, if there was moer lead guitar it could have built and built, but it is no jam vehicle whatsoever, just a ballad
indeed piss break time, btw listening to 12-05-1999
i first heard this song my sophmore year high school when i had a crush on this girl i wound up almost dating. Her name was Jennifer and she was indeed a ballet dancer so the title jumped out at me immediately on the Napster screen (that’s right, Napster) so i got it.
we wound up deciding it would be too weird to go out since we were always hanging out with the same 2 people as each other.
but she called me one time while i was listening to this song and i told her that i was just thinking about her because i was hearing a song called “Jennifer Dances”
she said, “that’s cool. Is it a good song?”
i said, “meh, actually it kind of sucks…but you’re still alright.”
I’ve still not heard this song? Is it pretty good…I think I’m gonna love it.
just heard this for the first time while listening to 12/07/99, and…not a bad little tune at all! i like the phish ballads though.
btw, i heard Spread it 'Round for the first time a couple days ago (finally downloaded IT off of LP), and i didn’t think that one was NEARLY as bad as it’s reputation. different strokes, i guess…
