Answer: While at Walden Pond, Henry David Thoreau was arrested by Constable Sam Staples and spent a night in this city’s jail.

What is Concord?

Concord is correct.

Walden Pond and the Concord Courthouse are on opposite sides of Rte. 2 in Concord, with the Concord jail being a couple miles west along Rte. 2, though I imagine the large compund they have now for the jail dwarfs anything Henry was held in. Walden is a wonderful place, and being there you can imagine the beauty that Thoreau found being there alone.

Unfortunately, I have been to the Courthouse as well.
