Jeopardy! Trivia Question of the Day

The first time I thought I did well. There were 50 questions, and you had to write down your answers (not in question form) within about 4-5 seconds before moving onto the next one. You weren’t penalized for spelling or grammar if your answer was close enough, I think.

The sucky thing was that they don’t tell you how you did unless you pass the first round. I’d say there were probably at least 200 of us there, and then I think the top 10-15 scorers moved onto another round of Q & A. I’d say that I’m confident I got probably at least 30-35 right. The nerd level in the room was certainly at an all-time high.
That was in the summer of 2002, I believe. I did another tryout in summer '03, but I got plastered the night before and felt like ass the entire time.

Oh well.

Also, humorously enough there was a nice life-size cardboard cutout of Alex at the front of the room during testing.

u should have ganked cutout alex, that would have been clutch

Although Lapis Lazuli was the first thing to come to mind but knew it was incorrect b/c lapis is a color unto itself… sapphire was close behind tho. It was the gem I giveth Angie. Radiant sapphire. Sapphire and Lapis are close but lapis is a deeper, richer blue.
