THURSDAY, JUNE 5th
Category: 1970s TV
$400

Answer: LeVar Burton played this slave, later called Toby, in the miniseries Roots.

I’ll up the prize money if you can identify the movie in which Eddy Murphy, dressed as an old Jewish man, referred to a young Eddy Murphy as the same character name as LeVar Burton’s in Roots.

I’d have to say Coming to America?

…which is interesting, because John Amos, who played the McDowell’s owner in Coming to America, played the adult Kunta Kinte in Roots.

Chicken George!

“Looking good Billy Ray”

What two characters form the connection between Trading Places and Coming to America?

" Mortemer were back"

" I’m still not speaking to you Randolph!"

This guy that I work with who wrote a book on TV had a chance to interview a good many actors about their shows. One of the most memorable ones he had was with Ralph Bellamy (Randolph Duke). He said that Bellamy was one of the sweetest, most down-to-earth actors he ever met while doing his book.

^ It’s funny how actors known for roles where they play dick’s are quite the opposite in real life. I bet the blonde kid (Jonny) from the Karate Kid is a great guy too!
