Cool…Look for me in the 10th row on the 3rd. Further back on the 4th.

Cha-ching! I’ll be at the third but I dunno if I’ll stream the fourth. You gotta admit $15 is kind of a lot for it even if it is 3+ hours of music.

I think I might check out one of em, probably will end up being 7/4, more chance of phishy shenanigans at that one in my mind, but you really never know on this tour

'twould be a better deal if it came with a sbd d/l…

yes.

I think I’m too impatient to get these streams. Or, I have to small of an attention span. Even if they are just killing it, I find myself pacing around the house or getting up and multi-tasking…usually in the end I just wish I was actually at the show.

But when they hit a few tunes and that groove you are dying for, you smile and it makes it so worth it!

It requires a different approach that is for sure.

For instance, when I am at a show, I am usually sober (or at least sober-ish, save for an occasional dose on a special night). There is no need to alter the atmosphere.

When I am listening to a show that I did not attend after the fact, I am probably multi-tasking, doing homework or driving or cleaning or something…sober.

But couch tour, since it is a LIVE, AUDIO/VISUAL feed, it makes it so it is kind of like watching a playoff game or something. You don’t want to miss anything when it happens. For instance, seeing an instant replay of an incredible touchdown or post-game highlights of the Heat’s epic Game 5 victory, somehow just isn’t the same as seeing it happen live. Just like it isn’t quite the same to hear a raging Tweezer go into a Forbin’s bustout when you know it is going to happen versus. receiving the excitement in real time.

Therefore, couch tour requires a different kind of a attention than other mediums of raging a Phish show. You need to be able to zone into the show without emitting too much excitement as to not wake up the neighbors. You are also only receiving the show’s energy from the music and stage visual, and not in the energy pool of the crowd. So, I have found that smoking a lot of pot and having a dank beer per set is a good way to sink into the couch and space out to the show.

Since Phish seems to hate me this summer and doesn’t want me to physically attend a show (though I may give a last ditch effort to do the southern swing pending finances and logistics), I am psyched about all this couch tour action.

It’s definitely a good time and I love that they do them. Maybe it’s hard for me to justify sitting in front of the TV while it’s still light out. I just can’t fucking sit still long enough to make it worth the $15 lol

^a good justification of the $15 is a watching party. It is always me and a friend of mine over at his place and usually 1-3 other people, bringing the total to under $8/person, depending on how many. The last 2 shows there have been 3 people so pitching in $5 for a webcast is awesome.

Who the fuck sits still during a phish webcast? Dance, for christ’s sake, doug! Shake that booty! :stuck_out_tongue:

no no no. You sleep half the webcast away, threatening destiny with a full beer in your hand while you’re dozing. Then you forget to throw some cash at Eric for buying the webcast, and you return the next night to nap/watch show/nearly ruin upholstery all over again.
