Joy & Party Time

So, has anyone heard if the Joy box set extras, such as Party Time and the DVD, will be available separately? I can’t imagine they wouldn’t let you buy the Party Time songs some other way, right?

I’m interested in them, but have no particular desire for the 10 posters that I’ll have nowhere to put.

Anyone heard any rumblings on this?

I think Party Time is an incentive to get you to buy Joy. I don’t think it will be sold separately. There isn’t a link to order it separately anyway.

fredct, I would be happy to take your posters off your hands.

for some reason song lyrics classifys alaska under the party time cd?

Is this a mistake, old news, or did i just discover something?

Anyone know what is actually on Party Time, other then the title track?

I hope a studio version of alaska.

Windy City and Middle Of The Road are also possibilities. Phish.com also describes the bonus disc as featuring “demos”, which might point towards Trey’s 2008 Time Turns Elastic demo or some other late-TAB material.

got that from jambase. this is turning out to be an exciting release… first album release in 5 years and they do it with a double album! i love it!

So Dry Goods has the joy box set on sale right now for $25… is it worth getting? Seems like a good deal regardless… I obviously already have joy, but was wondering more about Party time cd and the Dvd

2 CDs and a DVD @ 25 bones is a pretty good deal. The DVD is solely footage of tunes from Joy / Party Time. The box itself is pretty cool. The book included is essentially hardbound liner notes. On average the posters are only OK. Some are great, other are pretty weak. I never hung any of them.

25 bucks seems worth it. When I pre-ordered mine for $80 in 2009, it was not worth it.

Seems like it might be worth it as a collector’s item no doubt. And I’ve never seen this DVD. I imagine it to be like the Undermind limited edition companion DVD, which I liked.

Good way to get Party Time too, I like that album about as much as Joy.

Thanks fellas,

I ended up passing on it, even at that low price… I mainly wanted the DVD and Party time, but after reading some reviews,They say the dvd’s are hardly official release worthy, posters for the most part terrible and come to find out Party time is avail on live phish.

This has got to be the worst product Phish has put out… If I hedge on 25$ for this I can’t imagine the people who paid the original price of 99$

Phish usually does pretty well at their official releases and prices, but this was apparently bad…

This is a fact. I remember watching the DVD and thinking “sheesh this is worse quality than watching youtube videos.” Plus the tracklisting was in reverse order of the album :unamused:

The worst was this was the only way to get your hands on Party Time for a while. I ended up having to just steal it from some torrent site just so I could hear the songs since they didn’t even want to release it on its own. And it’s not like Party Time is that great an album…

The worst was the wait. The boxes didn’t ship until a month after they were promised.

I haven’t watched the DVD since I got it. I remembered it being pretty bad, but it is possible that I was just being a Negative Nelly. I can be pretty rough on 2009 - 2011… at not just when it comes to Phish: I mean all of it.

I do have to say, it is a very, very cool box. The contents within… :silent:

I watched the DVD once. From what I remember, it was a single cam shot, and incredibly MEH.
