I called my local record store and the owner told me that he is only able to order for record store day approx. 3 days prior to the day. I am not sure how this makes sense, but he stated…“that’s the problem with record store day.” He seemed to imply that the organization of record store day is lackluster at best. I am pessimistic about success on this one, so if I get one, I’ll be elated and super surprised! He did mention that the release quantity seems to have gone up 2k from the last release of 3k…(I didn’t research this, so I’m assuming he’s right.) I’m wondering what is on side F?? It seems that it would be the unreleased bonus stuff from the CD? It just seems odd that they wouldn’t publicize what would be on side F, given that side has to have another side! I’d still love to get my paws on a two soundchecks, but I can’t handle paying $100! My biggest fear is that people will buy it up, and we’ll be sitting at home crying about how we didn’t get a copy and 100s of copies will be on ebay for way inflated prices. I guess that’s the reality of a limited pressing, though.
Record store usually get to place their wish lists for RSD a week or 2 ahead of time. It’s a crapshoot basically. They can request whatever they would like to get but have no idea what they actually get until the shipment comes in (usually 2 or 3 days before the on sale date). As for side F, I wouldn’t be surprised if there is nothing on it. That is how Joy was released. Side D of Joy just has a Phish logo etched into the vinyl. Hopefully everyone on here that really wants it for themselves gets a copy! I wouldn’t be opposed to picking up extra if I had a chance to and helping someone out on here. I’ve had some good trade experiences in the past with OKP members! I have put a request in at my local store for it and will prob be going to another store early that morning to try and improve my chances of a copy.
I’m with you here. Seems like this would have been a logical breakdown if they’re not using the 3rd lp for bonus material. But, who cares cause they’re releasing JUNTA ON VINYL! I’ve been dreaming about this for many years and feel as if I’m counting down the days until xmas. Unless it’s horrible weather I plan to camp out in front of the store to give me the best chance of getting one of these. Hopefully most of them actually fall into the hands of real fans and not people just looking to make quick cash on Ebay.
The first thought that came to mind upon seeing this announcement in my inbox: How exciting for Kevin!
HMF, you are getting one of these bitches. I am here to help.
LOL awesome! I’m trying not to obsess about it. I’m planning to be out of town on Record Store Day, which of course means I’ll need all the help I can get!
:ready to help:
:waits for instructions::
Katie, you’re gonna be standing behind me at off-center

^I wondered if they would have it. Did you call there?
I’ve called him the last couple years about specific releases and he gives me the same answer that he never knows until like the day before. He was really frustrated after this past year, didn’t receive one request he put in for (including 2 soundchecks). Wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t participate at all. Next closest place is 'cuse.
Looks like the standard Junta edition will be $50 and the Pollock edition will be $80. Ouch. Still buying it though.
Seems like the Pollock version will be worth it.
Definitely. I have requested a copy of each edition at my local store if possible. I am curious to see what exactly pollock does for the print. I assume it will be a 12"x12" insert but anxious to see what he does.
What time should we go to the store? I kinda don’t care which edition I get at the moment. If I walk out of a record store with Junta records I’m a happy guy forevermore. Actually that should be true right now, why am I not happy forevermore?

If my local shop gets it in for me then I can just go in anytime on RSD and pick it up as they won’t sell it to anyone else, but if I have to go to another shop out of town, I will prob be getting in line around 5am ![]()
1 more month
I’ve never been more excited to spend $80 on an album before
NO SHIT. I don’t think I’ve ever anticipated a vinyl release this much in my life.
Looked at the RSD 2012 order list last night (30 pg PDF file!) and saw there was definitely 2 separate entries for Junta. I went into my local shop today and asked it they had requested both for me and they had. Won’t know until week of if they got it or not obviously but I’m really hoping they do so that I don’t have to drive 2hrs and wait in line for hours. Super pumped about getting this one!! Now if they would just release the rest of the catalog already!
I fully expect to be dragged thru the same torturous process with Nectar, Rift, Hoist, BB, Round Room & Undermind.

I’m ready! Can I have mine now please? Drools
